[VOD] HLTV Confirmed RMR recap with Devilwalk: Astralis & G2 debacle, surprise teams discussed

Tune in for the post-Major-qualifier show to hear the experts' takes on the teams going to Rio and those that will stay home.

G2 and Astralis are the two big names that will miss out on the first Major in Brazil, IEM Rio, set to kick off at the end of October. To make sense of the results of the Regional Major Ranking events that happened in Malta, Sweden, and Australia, the HLTV Confirmed crew will team up with Jonatan "Devilwalk" Lundberg for a new episode on Monday at 20:00 .

The show will return later in the week, too, with a long-awaited episode featuring Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen after Vitality qualified for the Major. Stay tuned for details.

G2 will not be at the Major for the first time since entering CS:GO

Aside from the surprise eliminations, the panel will discuss how the likes of FaZe and Natus Vincere performed, as well as the form of Brazilian teams FURIA, Imperial, and 00NATION ahead of the Major on home soil.

The topic list is below:

EU RMR
- G2 out shockingly early, what is next?
- Astralis suffer without k0nfig
- N1 Moment
- Picking a standout qualifying team
- EU qualified teams tiermaker
- Skinionaire
Americas RMR
- Brazil representation on home soil
- How do Liquid and EG look?
Asia RMR
- Nothing new in Asia

Well Astralis did show some good things like Cologne so with k0nfig I think they could have made it especially if k0nfig happened to have one of his good tournaments. Ofc without him I didn't think they could make it

They were actually very close to not make it to the RMR in the first place Even in the final Open qualifier these guys came second to some random team

Well anyone can struggle in the open qualifiers I wouldn't put that much focus on them, Astralis seems like the kind of team that wants to anti-strat and prepare for every match and that's not really possible in open qualifiers.

Imperial got trashed on this show when they were announced - how do you look at the team now? Your points about skill probably still stand but given the audience they get, it seems like a great move with 2 major runs on top. Can you, SPUNJ, as a victim of it and as jks' unofficial spokesperson, tell us what it's like dealing with big losses. The strong and exciting up and down nature of CS has to tear down one's mental health from time to time Prof & Striker: who decided who goes where for the RMR reporting? Did you pick Sweden to keep your turtleneck meta going, Prof? Devilwalk: Liquipedia says you've been part of 19 orgs. Has this taught you a lot of different things or is this too many changes? Also, prediction on who will win major and thus will never be mocked with Devilwalk_1_major_[X]_0_major?

Hey Prof and the gang, I know this is a topic that's been covered a bit in the past, but how do you all feel post-RMRs about T2 teams not having enough opportunities to match up against T1 opposition because of the qualification gauntlets and structures of Blast & EPL events. Seeing what Sangal, Gamerlegion, hell even Sprout, were able to do on LAN against T1 opposition surely suggests there's a lot of rosters out there that probably deserve more opportunities, right? Apart from RMRs, how exactly is that able to be fixed with the current tournament circuit and partnerships? Can we expect more TOs to come back to the scene so that there are more chances? Or do we think, on the balance, with more opportunities, these rosters would end up looking inconsistent, and maybe the RMRs are more or less, 1-offs? Thanks.

G2 needs new roster, There is no problem with IGL there is problem with Niko. He needs to be removed to actually make success.

They sometimes delete the whole tree of conversation and it removes all comments, including not very offensive comments, I think. Anyway, they overhyped the new g2 from the beginning. Nothing they did was a honeymoon in the last 2 months. The team look legit, yes or no, they are on honeymoon. They didn't face struggle. Now, it is wait and see. Spunj was totally biased toward g2. They have the firepower, but their teamplay is very very awful.

tbf, Jks didn't deliver on COL as expected. On g2, he did fine for his roles, but the synergy between hunter and jks is not really there. It is 2 good solo players doing stuffs, there is no cohesion at all.

And yet when he stood in for faze he won a trophy. The politics and lacklustre IGLs in these orgs drowning in money is stupid.

Tbf jks join as a standin in a well oiled machine. G2 has no strucure rn. It is a new team. They kept the 3 cores of the player, but no one for them build the structure. Monesy is playing well, but not inside the team. Same as hunter. I feel this team has no identity, nothing innovative. Jks is solo anchoring, hooxi die for Info and monesy is winning duels by dry peeking. You cannot win trophies with that mentality.
