The Russian squad have won their first CCT event with a 2-1 victory over 1win.
Entropiq have won CCT North Europe Series 1 after a competitive 2-1 win over 1win in the final. The three-map series ended with a 16-5 win on Inferno.
The victory marks the second time 1win have lost in a CCT Series final, the first being to MIBR in CCT Central Europe Series 1. This is their first step towards the Central Europe studio LAN for Entropiq, with the event expected to take place in early 2023.
Both the finalists received playoff invites to the event, meaning that they skipped the opening swiss group stage. However, the two team's routes to the final were not the same. Entropiq looked convincing in their wins despite every match having at least one map go to overtime, and they were able to defeat BLUEJAYS, Copenhagen Flames and IKLA before the final.
On the other side of the bracket 1win had a long overtime game of their own against Into the Breach but then dispatched SAW and Tricked with ease to confirm their place in the final.
The final started with a highly competitive first map of Ancient which, characteristically, had two teams dominating on the CT side. The first half was all Entropiq as they claimed a 12-3 lead, but they were unable to muster up four T-rounds following the side swap and ended up losing the map 14-16 as Denis "deko" Zhukov's 1.92 CT-sided rating ignited a 1win comeback.
On Dust2 affairs started the same way, with Entropiq able to once again take a 12-3 lead but this time on the T-side. Despite their opponents trying to make it close, this time Entropiq closed things out 16-12. Entropiq maintained their impeccable T side form on the Inferno decider, where they wasted little time in closing out the map 16-5 to win CCT North Europe Series 1.
Nikolay "mir" Bityukov was Entropiq's stand-out performer, obtaining a 1.23 rating in the final.
