Round 4 matchups set in Rio

Day three of the IEM Rio Major Legends Stage will be all about elimination or qualification.

The matchups of the fourth round at the IEM Rio Major Legends Stage have been set following the conclusion of round three, which saw Cloud9 and FURIA advance to the Jeunesse Arena and FaZe and Ninjas in Pyjamas exit the competition after being stunned by underdog teams.

The most high-profile match of the day will be an end-of-day qualification bout between Liquid and HEROIC, currently the #3 and #7 teams in the world.

The North American side will enter series play for the first time after previously sending Natus Vincere to the elimination matches, while Casper "⁠cadiaN⁠" Møller's men will have a second shot at securing a place in the playoffs after a disappointing first attempt against Cloud9.

Heroic will face Liquid in their second chance at qualification for playoffs

Before that, two more playoffs spots will be determined in matches between MOUZ and Outsiders as well as BIG and fnatic.

Meanwhile in the 1-2 pool, after sending FaZe home, Bad News Eagles will take on another massive favorite in Natus Vincere in the opening round. Vitality will then lock horns with ENCE, before the day concludes with a match for survival between Spirit and Sprout.

It really depends on which maps are going to be played. If they have an Ancient and Mirage they can even win. I wouldn't mind if Fnatic got through tbh, they do play good lately.

navi is mot in form but bne is also shaky, one day they play like gods, other day they cant be seen on the server bne played really well but simple alone is able to demolish them, but I admit it would be funny to see navi go home, would also mean gg for 90% of pickem players cuz they are all on the edge now and I bet all of them have navi in their pickems

+1 on the furia part. The fact that they didn't play even 1 top 10 team on their road to the next stage while 4 of the top 5 teams got at least 2 top 5 opponents in bo1s is shady. Obviously esl has to have one Brazilian team in the knockout stage after some of these so called legends got stomped 0-3 in front of their home crowd.

No man, these undeedog teams is what makes watching CS very exciting at present. I'm not happy that BNE plays against Na'Vi, but what can one do if you're a Na'Vi fan. If Na'Vi can best them and reach the champions stage they can still win this major (I hope). But, C9 and Heroic do look on point, so it will be tough for Na'Vi as they're not performing as they should.

Tbh I dont really like that system with BO1s. Id rather have less teams and more BO3s than some BO1 flukes. On the other hand, BO1s provide some really good upsets and are hard to predict. NiP and Faze 0:3s are deserved but Im not sure that they would go 0:3 if there are more BO3s.

This matches are in shambles because of best of 1. Should have atleast do like TI format best of 2 instead which both team can choose their own map pick thats why vitality and c9 both goes 3-2 in challengers and their first 2 game are against Navi and Faze which is fked up
