Elisa Masters Espoo schedule announced

The playoffs of the event will be held in the Espoo Metro Arena.

The schedule for the upcoming Elisa Masters Espoo has been released. The event will take place from November 16-20 in Espoo, Finland, with 12 teams competing for the lion's share of the $200,000 prize pool and a spot in the IEM Katowice 2023 Play-In.

Teams will be split into two groups of six, with the group stage set to be played in a BO1 round-robin format to determine the playoff teams. Second and third-place teams from the groups will meet in the quarter-finals, while the group winners will qualify directly for the semi-final.

Snappi's ENCE are the highest-rated team in the tournament

Group A's first matches will be played on Wednesday, with the group consisting of four Major attendees in ENCE, BIG, Sprout, and GamerLegion. They are joined by HEET and the only Finnish roster in attendance, HAVU.

fnatic and Astralis headline the team list in Group B, with the Danish team set to play with Kristoffer "Kristou" Aamand in place of Nicolai "device" Reedtz. The duo are joined by Complexity and Bad News Eagles, alongside two underdog teams in SAW and 500.

I dislike BO1 as well, but not when It's a league, a completely different scenario than Swizz format. It had been better with just one group though, and a true league format. I really think CS.GO could use a league. The idea of having as many elimination matches as possible has become way too overused.

But from the matches schedule it looks so exhausting though both for the players and watchers. No bo3 for elimination/advancement is a bit scary.

You are right. My dream scenario is a league like in regular sports, running over a very long time, all BO3's. No playoffs, no eliminations. Just a league like in normal sports. If you are no. 1 after let's say...19 games, you truly deserve the spot, and playoff games wont be needed. If such a tourney is put together, the prestige of winning it may top winning a major.

We had this when I was young... CS 1.6 ESL Pro Series, running for couple of months, twice a year. Back then (2005) there weren't so many other events though. CPL mostly.

I am old schooler myself, started playing before steam was a thing I remember. But didn't watch back then. Stopped in 2002 or so returned in 2015. These days I play 10 games a year or so. The community is way more toxic today imo, not really enjoyable.

Five bo1 matches in a day wow, never seen anything like that before. I think we are going to see some upsets in those matches as it's more difficult to prepare against certain teams because of the tight schedule. Interesting

I would have been excited to go see Havu live, but sadly they are not making the playoffs and there are no audience during groupstage.

They lost a lot of their potential viewers as device isn't playing, as I can imagine a lot of viewers would tune in, merely to check out his form and alike. Now it's just another random T1/T2 tourney which most viewers don't care the slightest about.

Sad but true. However, people shouldn't overlook new operators in the field, unless they want the whole scene to decline and possibly even die eventually. There used to be a lot more TOs that have ever since pulled out. Now we are pretty much only down to ESL and Blast. Even Blast a few years back was frowned upon but look at them now. People constantly praise their high level production and already consider them a prestige event of sorts. But yeah, I agree, the team list for this event could have been more interesting.

I agree that we need new TO's. But only to replace other TO's whose production value stopped developing. Having a myriad of different TO's makes no sense. I hope they make a great show, and I look forward to seeing kind of a league format for once, something I truly miss in CSGO. I wish it was just one big group though. I really want just one regular league in CSGO. It works in all other sports, why not in CSGO?

Because of schedule.. There used to be two leagues, no it's none.. The main reason is greedinest of ESL and BLAST.

Casters? If Anders and Moses/ SpungeJ and Machine would cast these games i would 100% tune in. But with some weird T5 finnish english casters i think i will skip this one tho. Even tho it looks kinda fun with all the matches and the teams meating all the teams?
