Astralis share expectations for 2023

Morale is high in the Astralis camp ahead of Nicolai "device" Reedtz's first match back with his countrymen, who believe this will be a great start for the new lineup.

Astralis' 2022 campaign has been a far cry from the success and glory that both fans and players alike were used to in the past, but anticipation is brewing as star AWPer device will return to the server for the first time since stepping down from Ninjas in Pyjamas a year ago. In a video published by Astralis, the Danes talk about their recent tour around Denmark and the team's expectations heading into the new year.

The players spent the first half of the video sharing their thoughts on the experience of meeting fans around the country, whose unwavering support for Astralis even during tough times was appreciated by Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander and company. The second part of the video delved more into the sporting aspect of the team and tackled some of their expectations for the end of the year and 2023.

device to make debut since returning to Astralis in CCT North Europe 2

One of the big takeaways is that Astralis head into their last two tournaments of 2022 with the goal of gaining enough points to qualify for the IEM Katowice Play-In stage. They will start off with CCT North Europe Series 2, where device will make his return to the server bearing the Astralis tag against Tricked on Sunday at 16:30 .

Xyp9X believes that everyone will see a renewed Astralis in 2023

The team's in-game leader, gla1ve, explained in the video that he was excited to hop back on the server alongside device once again and that their last two online tournaments of the year would serve as good experience for the new lineup.

"It's a fact that Astralis is not too big to participate in a given tournament," device said. "We have to build this from scratch. Even if it's just online tournaments, we don't really care about that. The most important thing for us is just winning those points, but also to win a lot of games to build our confidence and build that attitude that we can beat everyone."

device also stated that certain role clashes within the team that he observed from an outside perspective have been resolved, which resulted in increased contributions from both Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth and Benjamin "blameF" Bremer at Elisa Masters Espoo.

Veteran rifler Xyp9x also shared a positive outlook for the future, as he believes that everyone's going to witness a new Astralis side next year and he is looking forward to showing a glimpse of what's to come as 2022 nears its conclusion.

Maybe device isn’t as good as people think and astralis will never see the success they had before and will fade away as the team that were once the greatest and now live with the fact that they had there time. Unless they work twice as hard and really want to become the best I don’t see it happening. But who the fuck am I anyway haha

Clueless post. Agains disrespecting an all time great player. Don’t disrespect device. device has a record 4 major titles (3 of them won consecutively and did not lose a single map in the knockout phases of their three peat), 2 Major MVPs, 19 HLTV MVPs, an Intel Grand Slam, a record 10 tier 1 trophies in a calendar year. BEAT the so called “GOAT” s1mple in DIRECT duel in a major final. To top it of has the body of a Greek God.

So many sad haters, ewww Nice article, we are a few Astralis fans here, so for those of us with that inclination this is a good read. You know, you can ignore stuff that you do not like :) Also, I am only unsure about MistR, have not seen enough yet to decide if I think he can make it with some time or not. The rest seems super positive, also Xyp, he has been great since the summer, or even before. Looking forward to a more positive 2023 for sure.

They will be back to the top into contention if they can hire another strong rifler or even better, star rifler or top level entry fragger.
