m0NESY earns career-first MVP at BLAST Premier World Final

This is the young AWPer's first HLTV MVP award, coming at the end of his first year competing at the tier-one level.

Ilya "⁠m0NESY⁠" Osipov has been named the HLTV.org x 1xBet Most Valuable Player of the BLAST Premier World Final after leading G2 to the title at the $1 million tournament.

The Russian star scored a tournament-high 1.24 average rating in Abu Dhabi and at least a 1.15 rating in all but one of G2's nine map wins against FaZe, Outsiders, Vitality, and Liquid, spearheading the run to the organization's first Big Event trophy in over five years.

Thanks to other-worldly peaks in the earlier series against Outsiders and Vitality and his consistency throughout the tournament overall, m0NESY outshone his three star teammates, Nikola "⁠NiKo⁠" Kovač, Nemanja "⁠huNter-⁠" Kovač, and Justin "⁠jks⁠" Savage, as well as Liquid's top performers, Jonathan "⁠EliGE⁠" Jablonowski, Mareks "⁠YEKINDAR⁠" Gaļinskis, and Keith "⁠NAF⁠" Markovic.

Outside of the tournament-highest rating, m0NESY showcased his dominance at the event by finishing at the top of several other statistical leaderboards, recording 0.79 kills per round (joint-first), 0.55 deaths per round (second), 74.1% KAST (fifth), a 1.28 impact rating (second), and a 78.2% success in opening duels (first).

With this award, 17-year-old m0NESY has become the youngest player to clinch the HLTV MVP at a Big Event, and the third-youngest MVP winner overall behind Jere "⁠sergej⁠" Salo (StarSeries i-League Season 6) and Rokas "⁠EspiranTo⁠" Milasauskas (DreamHack Open Summer 2018).
