sdy makes way for npl in NAVI

Andrii "⁠npl⁠" Kukharskyi will take his place as a full-time player of the main roster moving forward.

Natus Vincere have announced that they have parted ways with Viktor "⁠sdy⁠" Orudzhev. The 25-year-old leaves the team after a seven-month trial stint, which began with NAVI winning the BLAST Premier Spring Final and ended in 5th-6th place at the BLAST Premier World Final.

At the last event, sdy shared his time on the roster with former NAVI Junior member npl, who has now become a permanent member of the main team despite an underwhelming debut in Abu Dhabi. The 17-year-old played one map of each of NAVI's three series at the World Final against Vitality, HEROIC, and Liquid, and averaged a 0.67 rating.

sdy's trial with NAVI reaches an unsuccessful end

npl is expected to make his official debut as a permanent member of the team at the BLAST Premier Spring Groups, which are yet to be officially announced but are expected to take place in the last two weeks of January. Natus Vincere will then play in the group stage of IEM Katowice, which kicks off on February 2 following the conclusion of the Play-in stage.

sdy has released a Twitlonger statement, in which he expressed his thankfulness for the experienced he garnered with Natus Vincere and their achievements, which included a victory at the Spring Final, a runners-up finish at IEM Cologne, and playoffs finishes at ESL pro League Season 16 and the IEM Rio Major.

"I would have never imagined how fast I could learn in and out of the game. I now understand and have proper vision on how things should work as well as the best ways to make a great team," sdy said.

"Now I'm looking for a new home where I can bring what I've learned, and where we can put it all together and bring back trophies!"

to be fair, this doesnt really matter, yeah i get it it might be difficult but you gotta put the numbers up. that said, i realize that just might be the tip of the iceberg lol. i was playing against hext from eg roster, of course he beat my ass but his rating is quite low. ratings dont always tell the truth. THAT SAID, i believe that an awper still has to put up the numbers, he had a 1.30 rating when playing with extra salt but hes gotta put up more than kennyS numbers (1.04)

As I predicted on HLTV's facebook page, when they announced sdy pickup - It's the worst possible pickup! He is not on NaVi's level. And sadly I was right in the end. Rolewise and just his skill are not good enough for NaVi. (still a lot of lvl 3s were mad because of my comment) Still, Npl is not the solution. They will be even worse with him, even tho role wise he is a better pickup than sdy. But their only solution is to buy an IGL. I'm still wondering about electronic's contract, as it was until 26/12/2022, according to an HLTV article when he and s1mple signed his new deals. I think this won't be the only transfer in NaVi.

You contradicted your rating with your own statement. Electronic has been TOP 10 HLTV at least since 2018. There aren't many other riflers that can consistently do that other than NiKo like you stated. As much as I love electronic and I think he'd be a GREAT Tier 2 IGL, he's straight up fallen off a damn cliff since starting the IGL role. This isn't NAVI's year. First Boombl4, then Ukraine vs Russia! NaVi needs an IGL and that'll fix their issues. Electronic still performs on an elite level among all the razor sharp talent today. NAVI has lost their gusto!

Not really. He said not ready for T1. This is an obvious tactic to keep him working hard and thirsty for success, and not to take anything for granted. In the long run it has served headtrick well. Landed in a good team, plus as an awpwer there was never a spot for him in Navi.

Right, so not calling him dogshit at all, just saying he has potential and more to learn. As to npl Vs headtr1ck, well I missed most of npl games so can't really comment. Blade doesn't really strike me as an idiot and I'm sure he has reasons. Most likely headtr1ck is currently an awpwer (yes he may have been a rifler but apparently he now is an awpwer so that is the role he would be in contention for) and ofc Navi have an awpwer. More likely blade thinks npl gels better into the team, probably due to better comms and decision making, or he has simply seen a higher skill ceiling in practice that we haven't witnessed. Be interesting to see. Overall, I agree a new igl would be best to unlock electronic but obviously they haven't been able to find one and want to change something.

People have a very short term thinking. Nobody sees the long term vision of NaVi. Ofcourse its a risk that npl fails & b1t keeps underperforming but there is also a chance that npl gets mentored and develops into a good player and b1t inproves. Electronic igling is also something which can be seen in positive light. Electronic is probably the most mature player in the team and clearly has been mentoring b1t. Ofcourse the first few months have been rough for him, but i think its his own desire to transform into an IGL. He started IGLing at 25 and in 1-2 years he would definitely become much better. IGLs have a lengthier career and more impact on the scene. Maybe thats the direction electronic wants to take his career to. Looking at electronic as a strong minded player and consistency, i believe in him being a successful IGL in some time. As long as electronic, s1mple and blade are tight, they will find some success.

I think it has more to do with s1mple. Him yelling at players and putting pressure on them is not helpful. Npl will perform worse than sdy because of how simple is with his teammates and he is young so the pressure is even worse.
