2023 season to kick off with BLAST Premier Spring Groups

The opening of the BLAST circuit has been announced to start in the middle of January.

The dates for the BLAST Premier Spring Groups have been confirmed. The 12 BLAST partnered teams, which include five teams currently in the top 10, will compete from January 19-29 for a prize pool of $177,500. The tournament will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The start of the season is almost upon us

The announcement has not specified what the groups will be or the structure of the event, but what is known is that six BLAST Premier Spring Final spots are on offer. The event serves as an opportunity for teams to warm up to the year as IEM Katowice is just around the corner.

It will also give us the first look at Ninjas in Pyjamas' newest player, which is reported to be Daniil "headtr1ck" Valitov. The event could serve as the young Ukrainian's debut and will also be the debut for Astralis' new rifler, Christian "Buzz" Andersen.

The teams for the BLAST Premier Spring Groups are as follows:

there are no qualifiers for most of the tourneys. you should qualify from 8324 qualifiers to get a slot from blast "showdown" meanwhile some top100 na team can get a slot for doing nothing

And then on majors , teams that "aren´t know" wins it and get good places and people doesn´t understand how. THATS HOW. this less known teams are only less known because of TOS such as blast who don´t give slots to teams that deserve them. Its the same as if in 2018 no one gave slots to ASTRALIS. Doesn´t matter if they are top1 if no one gave them tournaments to play on.

Very good point. Although this also may have to do with the format at majors (swiss system is pretty bad), it’s weird how teams like Copenhagen Flames and Spirit can have 2 really good consecutive major runs and still not manage to really accomplish anything in between.
2023-01-05 15:17

Kind of true but also not really Every single org that has won a major is well-known. The only exception is kind of outsiders because they "have no org". Outsiders are only out of the closed qualifiers because VP are owned by a russian oligarch. So kind of also not true. Why do "unknown teams" do well in majors has a lot to do with the format. Online, Bo1's and off-stage play will always favour the underdog team. The major qualifiers have in large parts all of these. The actual top 8 of majors aka the play-offs is always big teams. Yes CPH Flames might sneak in but they just get smashed in the first match. And the few times that an underdog team make a run they always do well afterwards. Look at where Ence is today or that old Avangar roster. The real joke is that Astralis, EG and Complexity get to play when better teams like Mouz, C9, Spirit, Fnatic and Ence don't. Who themselves are big orgs

Maybe because they are some of the best in the world, and can whoop Eg, Col, Og with their eyes closed, and then go head to head with navi g2 bit and beat them on a good day. Or just maybe because the org owning them is from NA idk

Because they represent a country that invaded a neighbor? And Blast doesn't like them? They had to accept Outsiders in the World Final only because they won the Major.

How do u figure? Furia has been top10 basically whole 2022. Outsiders won the Major and clearly is a top 10 team. mouz has been top 10 since july aswell and got even better when xertiaN joined. So basically 4 top10 teams BOOKED, only fnatic can be considered below since they havent shown great success over longer period of time yet, but their curve is heading up aswell. But im still interested which teams are missing in the top10 outside Vitality who have shown to be better or equal than those mentioned teams. NiP? Astralis? ENCE? BIG? They can be in the future again, but surely not based on their results lately.
