HLTV.org's staff collected and ranked the best highlights of 2022, continuing a tradition that goes all the way back to 2011. The twelfth edition of the Top 10 Highlights is edited by Ayush "AwptiX" Kumar and includes actions by some of the game's most scintillating players such as Mathieu "⁠ZywOo⁠" Herbaut and Ilya "⁠m0NESY⁠" Osipov.

The 17-year-old prodigy appears twice on this compilation following a fantastic rookie year in CS:GO. He was on par with Canada's Russel "⁠Twistzz⁠" Van Dulken, whose successful 2022 with FaZe also proved successful in terms of highlights. Oleksandr "⁠s1mple⁠" Kostyliev is the most notable absence on this list despite another phenomenal season which saw the Ukrainian superstar claim the best player award for a record-breaking third time.

The top spot was closely contested between Robin "⁠ropz⁠" Kool and m0NESY, and the final result was announced at the HLTV Awards Show 2022, causing discussions among players and fans on social media.

it's a dope play don't get me wrong but it may have been left out cause it was as much a mistake of navi as it was a sick play from twistzz. electronic hardly even responded when he shouldve heard twistzz land AND he clearly didn't comm the position to sdy who was caught unaware as well. i'd have put it in the top 10 but i can see why it was left out. i bet it was strongly considered.

Because round 30 of Grand final LAN vs round 1 of group stage online Monesy opps were all in front of him but Ropz swinging between three different angles and aces in 8 seconds but monesy clip lasts a minute. There’s honestly no debate Ropz has the better clip. Nobody has clip like it but we have seen people no scope and flick before.

M0nesy was at home on his own setup playing against a tier 2 team early on in a tournament. Ropz was in front of a crowd a huge game with a scoreline of 14-15 if he didnt clutch that out they lost that map. Honestly you put the two clips side to side I think M0nesy is better but with knowing the context Ropz should have won.

I feel like the best highlight should be the one that cant be replicated. Ropz's highlight can be replicated by any great player. What m0NESY did can only be done by s1mple or zywoo besides him.

I disagree I think almost any awper could do that on a good day. Then again I have been playing CS since it launched in 1999 so I have seen alot. Then if any play counts JWs play was better in eyeballers.

I mean, he did miss like 3 shots before it, and MIBR still didn't trade any of them. Any t1 awper who is 7-1 up and between 3 enemies can throw noscopes all around and hope they hit.... Nice and flashy play but context still matters

Suprised the clip from broky vs NIP down mid/banana with the awp and Tec-9 was not on the list, that was really good, from the bhop to get the bomb to tapping them out with the tec-9.

To all those complaining about the monesy highlight, I think a highlight play should be isolated from all other factors like circumstances, etc. Just the sheer insane-ness of it for lack of a better word.
