Vitality confirm JACKZ will stand in for dupreeh at ESL Pro League

The Danish rifler is taking paternity leave during at least the group stage of the competition.

Vitality have confirmed that Audric "⁠JACKZ⁠" Jug will be standing in for Peter "⁠dupreeh⁠" Rasmussen for ESL Pro League while the Dane takes paternity leave. The news comes mere days ahead of the competition starting, although Vitality's campaign begins March 8.

This development comes as a blow to Vitality's hopes of retaining their Pro League trophy, the squad having won the last iteration of the competition just after adding Lotan "⁠Spinx⁠" Giladi. The team started 2023 in solid form, picking up five series victories in a row before falling in the playoffs of IEM Katowice.

JACKZ joins fellow Frenchmen apEX and ZywOo on Vitality

JACKZ takes up his temporary spot in Vitality having not played an official match since December last year; the Frenchman was benched recently by HEET as part of the pre-Paris Major French shuffle. He sported a 0.94 rating during his relatively short stint with the team, and was part of the lineup that failed to make it through the Road to Rio
Europe RMR last year.

"As you might know, our key player Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen will go on paternity leave at least until the end of the ESL Pro League groups," said Vitality in a statement. "Everyone in Team Vitality sends their congratulations and wishes him and his family all the best."

With regards to JACKZ, Vitality said "he is going to be a great soldier for the team and he will give his best on our road to Paris Major!"

The announcement appeared to leave the door open for dupreeh to return for the playoffs of ESL Pro League, the wording specifically stating he would be on leave "at least until the end of the ESL Pro League groups," but the Dane is currently not registered as part of Vitality's lineup for the competition.
