Fluxo, Flamengo, Paquetá qualify for BLAST Paris Major Americas RMR

The South American sides join Imperial and BESTIA in qualifying from the region.

Fluxo, Flamengo and Paquetá have triumphed in the 2-1 games of the South America closed qualifier to earn their spots at the BLAST.tv Paris Major Americas RMR.

With these results confirmed over half of the teams are now set for the RMR, with the likes of Complexity, paiN and Imperial already having secured qualification. The 16 squads that make up the final team list will do battle from April 5-9 over five spots at the Paris Major.

Fluxo had the most straightforward time of the 2-1 teams, decimating 9z 16-4 on Inferno before closing things out comfortably 16-11 on Mirage. 9z struggled particularly on their T sides, being simply unable to break through the defensive firepower of Allan "⁠history⁠" Lawrenz, Lucas "⁠Lucaozy⁠" Neves and João "⁠felps⁠" Vasconcellos. They, as with the other losers in the 2-1 bracket, will get another chance at RMR qualification in a do-or-die matchup later in the qualifier.

Flamengo put up a similarly convincing result, taking down Fuscão 1500 16-12 on Mirage before brushing them aside 16-6 on Anubis. It was a measured team performance that helped Flamengo to victory on Mirage, but they had a superlative 141 ADR, 2.08-rated showing from Felipe "⁠delboNi⁠" Delboni to thank for the Anubis win.

As for Paquetá, they were made to fight hard for their victory by ODDIK, having to recover from a 14-16 loss on their pick of Overpass with a 16-14 win on Anubis and a 16-12 win on Inferno. It was a close series right until the death, but Paquetá securing both pistols on Inferno gave them the buffer needed to see out the victory.

There are still two spots left to be grabbed from the South America closed qualifier. One will go to the higher seed 3-2 team, whilst the two lower seed 3-2 teams will fight it out for the seventh and final spot.
