When astralis won the 4 majors other teams could change anytime they want not locked down by anything for navis major teams ware already dead with leaks about changes out just playing out the major and even looking at the last major astralis got they had liquid and nrg both higher bettor favorites and almost all analyst had liquid to win so ya u cant say the exact same thing for astralis's major or faze or even outsiders or any other major

I don't think absolute skill is the only metric worth considering for GOAT status. It's just a boring way to determine it, if we were to do that it would be zywoo anyway. You quickly realize that the number of accolades also matters, the longevity of a player etc (device easily has simple beat here). And the real reason why i think device is the GOAT is because on top of all of these, he takes care of himself, he's not toxic, actually friendly guy, haven't let himself go. Again device has simple beat here extremely easily.

Having all top 20 players on one team, and still carrying (which he did) doesn't mean you do less, that means you have to do more to keep up. You cannot physically get 1.20+ ratings for years when magisk runs around demolishing everyone. That means you are literally dumpstering on top of that. Device is the GOAT, it's not even a question to me. Zywoo would be the only other person i could see overtake him if he starts winning majors because he's still very young. Simple i don't see it happening. If he were to win one or two more majors he would absolutely also be in the conversation for sure.

More general question: Who and how is the MVPs decided for each tournament, eg Hunter getting Katowice MVP over jks? Is it the TO alone who decides it, or is there some stats based metric to determine it? And is it the same for each tournament? Also, I have seen players with HLTV MVP medals. Is that when HLTV is sponsoring the MVP, or something HLTV is handing out to all tier 1 MVPs? (ie, does hunter get an HLTV medal from winning the IEM Katowice DHL-MVP?)

Why even bring on astralis players? Their contracts forbid them from speaking openly.
