Liquid (Power ranking: #1)
Nick "nitr0" Cannella
Keith "NAF" Markovic
Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski
Josh "oSee" Ohm
Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis
Damian "daps" Steele (coach)
1. The North American juggernauts come into the event in unconvincing form. After a semi-final placing at IEM Katowice, they suffered two early eliminations at BLAST Premier Spring Showdown 2023 Americas and ESL Pro League Season 17 by paiN, against whom they could face off once again.
2. Liquid recently picked up Nuke after not playing it for the entirety of 2022. Their map pool is not the strongest, however, with the North Americans having a winning record on just Overpass, Mirage, and Anubis in the last three months.
3. Liquid has been a mainstay at Majors, having attended 11 of 14 since the organization entered CS:GO in early 2015. They come into the RMR as the highest-ranked team and number-one on the HLTV Power Rankings.
FURIA (#2)
Andrei "arT" Piovezan
Yuri "yuurih" Santos
Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato
Rafael "saffee" Costa
André "drop" Abreu
Nicholas "guerri" Nogueira (coach)
1. Their core of yuurih, arT, and KSCERATO has been playing together for over five years.
2. arT attempts the highest percentage of opening duels among the top 30 for his team at 34.6%, far ahead of his closest challenger YEKINDAR at 29.8%.
3. FURIA have looked shaky during 2023, suffering decisive losses against IHC at IEM Katowice and most recently EG Black at BLAST Premier Spring Showdown 2023 Americas.
Complexity (#3)
Johnny "JT" Theodosiou
Ricky "floppy" Kemery
Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli
Michael "Grim" Wince
Justin "FaNg" Coakley
Tiaan "T.c" Coertzen (coach)
1. The squad reached their peak of #8 in the world rankings in March but have since dropped down to #13 after a string of lackluster results.
2. The organization aims to return to a Major after suffering a heartbreaking loss against Imperial last time around prior to IEM Rio.
3. Complexity were one of the early adopters of Anubis and attempted to make it their home map, but haven't played it since February after recording only a 22.2% win rate.
paiN (#4)
Gabriel "NEKIZ" Schenato
Wesley "hardzao" Lopes
Rodrigo "biguzera" Bittencourt
Felipe "skullz" Medeiros
Romeu "zevy" Rocco
Henrique "rikz" Waku (coach)
1. The Brazilians have shot up the world rankings after a successful start to the year and sit at their peak of #15.
2. Due to losing IGL Vinicios "PKL" Coelho in February, biguzera had to take over the reins and did so with aplomb. The 26-year-old has also kept up his impressive individual form, sporting a 1.13 rating across 67 maps of play in 2023.
3. paiN are also experimenting with playing all seven maps but have a distinct weakness on Overpass — their last win dates back to December of 2022.
Imperial (#5)
Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo
Ricardo "boltz" Prass
Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes
Vinicius "VINI" Figueiredo
Jhonatan "JOTA" Willian
Rafael "zakk" Fernandes (coach)
1. Imperial are the oldest squad at the Americas RMR with an average age of 26.3 and the second oldest among all RMRs, just behind fnatic.
2. The team recently won BLAST Premier Spring Showdown and qualified for the Spring Final by taking down Complexity, EG Black, and paiN, re-entering the top 30 of the world rankings for the first time since December.
3. The roster has amassed 29 collective Major appearances throughout their careers. FalleN alone makes up almost half of that with 14.
00NATION (#6)
Marcelo "coldzera" David
Eduardo "dumau" Wolkmer
Bruno "latto" Rebelatto
Lucas "nqz" Soares
Leonardo "n9xtz" Santos
Olavo "chucky" Napoleão (coach)
1. The squad is still playing with n9xtz in place of Epitacio "TACO" de Melo and with coldzera picking up calling duties.
2. The HLTV power rankings place 00NATION at #6, which puts them on the cusp of making the Major in Paris.
3. Despite their relatively high ranking, their first match is as tough as they come. The Brazilians have been pitted against the highest-ranked team at the tournament, Liquid.
MIBR (#7)
Henrique "HEN1" Teles
Raphael "exit" Lacerda
Matheus "Tuurtle" Anhaia
Breno "brnz4n" Poletto
Felipe "insani" Yuji
Bruno "BIT" Fukuda Lima (coach)
1. Their opening match comes against Flamengo, the lowest-ranked team in attendance.
2. MIBR's newest academy graduate insani has collected a lot of hype around him, as he put up a 1.27-rated performance at the IEM Katowice Play-in and continued good showings since his tier-one debut.
3. The Brazilians have the highest number of Flash Assists on the T side out of top 30 teams.
Evil Geniuses (#8)
Timothy "autimatic" Ta
Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte
Sanzhar "neaLaN" Iskhakov
Jerric "wiz" Jiang
Jadan "HexT" Postma
Daniel "Vorborg" Vorborg (coach)
1. The storied organization failed to qualify for the RMR and are only here as a last-minute replacement for DETONATE, who had to drop out of the event.
2. HexT is set to continue playing for the team despite rumors of him returning to EG Black as a replacement for a departing Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz.
3. Evil Geniuses placed dead last at all three LAN events they attended during 2023, consequently drawing big criticism among the CS:GO scene.
Fluxo (#9)
João "felps" Vasconcellos
Adriano "WOOD7" Cerato
Vinicius "vsm" Moreira
Lucas "Lucaozy" Neves
Allan "history" Lawrenz
Wilton "zews" Prado (coach)
1. The team's star, felps, aims to return to a Major after some time away from the top-tier scene. His last appereance was at PGL Major Stockholm 2021 with GODSENT, where they exited the Challengers Stage with an 0-3 record.
2. Fluxo are currently ranked at #58 after a series of underwhelming results, a far cry from their peak of #26 achieved at the end of last year. Their spot at #9 in the power rankings also makes them outsiders for a Major berth.
3. There has been a lot of fanfare around Lucaozy in recent years and has been Fluxo's standout player with an impressive 1.21 rating since the team came together.
TeamOne (#10)
Pedro "Maluk3" Campos
Victor "iDk" Torraca
Alencar "trk" Rossato
Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa
Matheus "pesadelo" Panisset
Alexandre "kakaveL" Peres (coach)
1. Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa aims to make history for his country and become the first Guatemalan at a CS:GO Major.
2. Journeyman coach Luis "peacemaker" Tadeu left the team as of March 27 after just two months with the team. The organization's CEO kakaveL will replace him at the tournament in Mexico.
3. While the team went through many roster changes throughout their time in CS:GO, Maluk3 has been a constant presence. The 33-year-old has been a part of the organization for an incredible seven years, during which he recorded 1,214 maps on HLTV.
Nouns (#11)
Christopher "cJ dA K1nG" Jones
Edgar "MarKE" Maldonado
David "cynic" Polster
Brendan "Bwills" Williams
Carson "nosraC" O'Reilly
Kory "SEMPHIS" Friesen (coach)
1. Nouns are an up-and-coming team that has been together for just half a year, with their latest addition Edgar "MarKE" Maldonado joining two months ago. During this time, they became one of the best teams in North America.
2. The organization's future in CS:GO will be decided by a vote among all Nouns NFT holders on April 6.
3. While none of the players boast Major experience, their coach Kory "SEMPHIS" Friesen played at five — two for Complexity and three for Cloud9.
BESTIA (#12)
Nicolás "Noktse" Dávila
Ignacio "meyern" Meyer
Luca "Luken" Nadotti
Marcos "deco" Amato
Luciano "luchov" Herrera
Rodrigo "pino" Manarino (coach)
1. BESTIA are the only team at the tournament not hailing from North America or Brazil.
2. After an ill-fated spell in MIBR during 2020 and the consequent return to domestic CS, meyern looks to be in great form to help BESTIA make history and become the first Argentinian team at a Major.
3. The lineup's core made the jump from Isurus in February and has been a mainstay in South American CS for several years. Since switching organizations to BESTIA, the lineup has attended just two events — the open and closed RMR qualifier.
Paquetá (#13)
Lucas "destiny" Bullo
Gustavo "yel" Knittel
Alexandre "ALLE" Santos
Gabriel "nython" Lino
Carlos "venomzera" Eduardo
João "righi" Righi (coach)
1. venomzera is one of the many ex-academy league players to have made the jump up to a senior team. The ex-Young Gods player hit the ground running and is the team's highest-rated player in 2023 with a 1.18 rating.
2. While the team has never attended an event of such prestige, destiny and yel have previously attended the StarLadder Berlin 2019 Challengers Stage with INTZ.
3. The team lost just one match at the closed qualifier and upset 00NATION to relegate them to the 0-2 bracket.
Flamengo (#14)
Caio "zqkS" Fonseca
Gustavo "SHOOWTiME" Gonçalves
Felipe "delboNi" Delboni
Arthur "f4stzin" Schmitt
Vinicius "n1ssim" Pereira
Matheus "KAOS" Nicolau (coach)
1. Flamengo are the event's lowest-ranked team, placing at #95 in the HLTV.org world rankings.
2. zqkS attended ESL One Katowice 2015 with FalleN's Keyd Stars team. The AWPer is also the third oldest player at the tournament at 31 years of age after FalleN and Maluk3.
3. The team is a part of the esports department of CR Flamengo, one of Brazil's richest and most historic football clubs.
yur (#15)
Ethan "reck" Serrano
Jordon "jitter" Ruggiero
Walker "walker" Harris
Anthony "CLASIA" Kearney
Matthew "d4rty" Paplawskas
1. yur are the only squad without organizational support at the Americas RMR and are thus the biggest unknown quantity at the tournament after recording just 14 maps together.
2. Their average age of 20.1 makes them the youngest team not only at the Americas RMR, but at all RMRs combined.
3. Since the roster qualified for the RMR, their players have been playing for other North American squads. reck represented ATK, while d4rty and CLASIA turned out for Strife.
Solid (#16)
Daniel "DANVIET" Marques
Felipe "nolkz" Rodrigues
Guilherme "roz" Pureza
Leonardo "Lcm" Moreira
Gabriel "gbb" Pereira
Lucas "luq" Guedes Cavalcanti (coach)
1. The lineup previously played under the Fuscão 1500 moniker but signed for their new organization just before the RMR.
2. They qualified for the RMR with the help of their Buchholz score. The team with the highest Bucholz score out of the 3-2 teams directly qualified for the Americas RMR, meaning Solid dodged a decider match against either 00NATION or 9z.
3. Solid have only played against South American teams in their time together, making their level at the RMR hard to predict. Their first match comes against Complexity, where their ability to adapt to different playstyles will come to the fore.
