TeamOne, Paqueta barred from using coaches at Americas RMR

A miscommunication by BLAST resulted in unregistered coaches standing behind TeamOne and Paquetá in their opening matches.

BLAST has ruled that Bruno "Rivas" Rivetti and Alexandre "kakaveL" Peres are not allowed to coach or stand behind Paquetá and TeamOne, respectively, at the BLAST.tv Paris Major Americas RMR.

Both kakaveL and Rivas were not a part of their teams' lineups per Valve's roster lock rules, but still stood behind their teams in the opening matches of the tournament.

Dust2.us and Dust2.com.br report that both teams received emails from BLAST that authorized the purchase of tickets and accommodations for the two members, but were ambiguous in their language as to whether they had officially been registered as substitutes in the lineup.

TeamOne won't have kakaveL behind them for the remainder of the RMR

kakaveL was enlisted as a replacement by TeamOne after they announced the departure of Luis "peacemaker" Tadeu just one day ahead of the start of the RMR, while Rivas took the place of Paquetá coach João "righi" Righi after he was sidelined due to a medical emergency.

However, neither of them were registered as official coaches or substitutes, according to BLAST. Andrew Haworth, the commissioner of BLAST Premier and Director of Operations and Productions, offered the following statement to press on the matter:

During day one of the BLAST.tv Major Americas RMR LOS + oNe [TeamOne] & Paqueta had coaches stand behind the teams during their R1 loses [sic] that were not on the registered roster. There had been miscommunication between both parties & BLAST around the support staff travelling with the teams and their official registered rosters.

LOS + oNe & Paqueta will play the rest of the RMR without a coach behind the team in line with their registered roster. We have spoken to all involved parties and have deduced this was not an intentional breach of rules and will be taking no action against LOS + oNe or Paqueta.

Both TeamOne and Paquetá offered comment on the matter to Dust2.us and Dust2.com.br, with the former organization stating they had nothing to declare "as it believes that the tournament needs to take a stand, once registration has been made and our participation authorized." Paquetá expressed their surprise at the situation and their regret that the matter wasn't handled ahead of the start of the event.

honestly can Valve do a better job? It's their Major and I understand that they outsourced to TOs but for once, do some fucking checkup to ensure that they're doing a good job Fuck Valve and how they approach e-sports Greedy cunts

It's not Valve's fault. It's BLAST's fault. Valve handled the organization to BLAST, which is a well respected TO with huge experience etc. BLAST, on their side, handled the organization to some no namer TO, which lacks experience, technical knowledge and have never done anything like a RMR tournment. They could easily hire a NA or SA TO with lots of experience and knowledge, but decided to go to Mexico in order to save a few bucks (they say it's to ensure a neutral ground or smthng but this is TOTAL BS).

I totally understand that they outsourced it to Blast and Blast's reputation is well-known my point is that this is their major, they could have at least done something to prevent these kind of situations TI, Majors all are shitshow and delays

Bro, Valve hate coaches. I'm sure that their wet dream is to just ban all use of coaches entirely
