9INE, Vitality, Heroic join 2-0 pool at EU RMR B

The Polish side have joined Monte in shocking the Europe RMR B by going 2-0 in their opening matches.

Another top 20 team scalp has been claimed by 9INE, this time BIG’s, to put them on the verge of qualifying for the BLAST Paris Major. The Poles defeated their German counterparts 19-15 on Mirage after taking down G2 earlier in the day 16-14.

hades continued his strong recent form to put 9INE close to qualification

It was a hotly-contested map between 9INE and BIG, with Kamil "⁠KEi⁠" Pietkun and Olek "⁠hades⁠" Miskiewicz providing the fragging needed to combat a strong performance from Nils "⁠k1to⁠" Gruhne. At the end of regulation BIG broke the 9INE economy and seemed they would take the win, but a scout and pistols were all 9INE needed to secure overtime, where they swept BIG to finish the match.

Vitality also came through their 1-0 match successfully to put themselves on the brink of Major qualification, defeating Ninjas in Pyjamas 16-13 on Vertigo to do so. The usual suspects of Lotan "⁠Spinx⁠" Giladi and Mathieu "⁠ZywOo⁠" Herbaut got the bulk of the fragging done for the boys in black and yellow, helping carry their team to victory after they labored at 15-9 and nearly allowed Ninjas in Pyjamas back into the match. Vitality's first win at the event came at the expense of Astralis, also on Vertigo.

The other two teams in the 2-0 pool are HEROIC and Monte. HEROIC were given a scare by a young Aurora squad, but Rasmus "⁠sjuush⁠" Beck provided impact when it was most needed to get the Danes over the line. Monte thoroughly impressed by defeating Cloud9 16-9 on Vertigo to go 2-0, after besting ENCE 16-11 in their opening game.

Monte one win away from BLAST Paris Major

So far the Europe RMR B has seen how many potent tier two squads there are in the European scene, with Monte and 9INE capitalizing on their immense form in online competition this year by upsetting established tier one squads. Both can now look forward to multiple chances to qualify for the BLAST Paris Major.

i was kind of expecting 9ine to do well because they've been showing some crazy potential lately, but monte is a big surprise. good for them! hopefully they don't end up like b8 in group a.

9INE has a good chance against Monte in bo3. If they get Heroic or Vitality the job will be much harder.

After ence and spirit loosing its gonna be 100% Vitality - If 9ine makes an upset on vertigo, which Vitality might pick, 2-0 is possible, If not 1-2 i think, but everything is possible
