Cloud9 eliminate BIG from Major contention
The German organization misses out on a spot at the Major for the first time since the StarLadder Major in 2019.
Cloud9 have eliminated BIG from contention for a spot at the BLAST.tv Paris Major after a 2-0 win in the second round of the last-chance qualifier. The Russian side moves on to play FaZe in the do-or-die decider to find the final team qualifying for the Major.
The German side had two chances to qualify in the B group of the European RMRs after going 2-1 on the first two days of the tournament. BIG were just one map away from Paris, but ultimately lost the first qualifying series to Vitality and went on to drop to the last-chance qualifier following a loss to Ninjas in Pyjamas in their second attempt.

With Cloud9 and FaZe among the competition in the last-chance qualifier, it was always going to be a tall task to secure the single remaining spot on offer there. BIG beat Falcons in the opening round before they got eliminated by Cloud9 in round two.
BIG exit the tournament heartbroken as the organization misses out on a place at the Major for the first time since the StarLadder Major in 2019.
"It hurts a lot," a disappointed Johannes "tabseN" Wodarz said on the BLAST broadcast shortly following the final loss. "It's just really sad that we are not able to play the last CS:GO Major. We put so much effort and so much work into this tournament, also in the previous months, but unfortunately it didn't work out."
