FaZe best Cloud9 to secure final Paris Major spot

The Intel Grand Slam winners are the final confirmed team at the French Major.

FaZe defeated Cloud9 in the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 Challengers Europe Last Chance Qualifier with a 2-0 scoreline. Finn "karrigan" Andersen got off to a slow start on Mirage but came back from 4-13 down to win in overtime and then took the momentum into a 16–9 win on Inferno to close out the series.

Following the disappointment of squandering three qualification chances during the Swiss System stage, FaZe will be relieved not to miss out on a Major spot. Losses to Natus Vincere, Bad News Eagles, and MOUZ condemned them to the LCQ, but they refused to let their second chance slip, showing incredible mental resilience to book their Major ticket.

FaZe battled through the LCQ to secure a Challengers Stage spot

After the game, an elated karrigan couldn't hide his happiness. "There is a record I want to break, to be the oldest Major winner," said the Dane in the post-match interview. "Just being there and enjoying what CS:GO gives to you is fantastic, the lows and the highs, and we will do everything to do well in Paris."

Conversely, the loss will be a tough pill to swallow for Cloud9, as the number-five team in the world misses out on the last CS:GO Major after playing an exhausting four BO3 series in 24 hours.

Very impressed with Faze and ultra glad they made it literally last chance. I will be honest I lost all hope when score was 14:5 and when sh1ro and ax1le were having life games with each of them having 20 kills after first half of Mirage…but Faze managed to comeback and beat Cloud9 with both of their stars going nuclear. Hope Faze get their shit together before Paris and show us good CS with deep run.

I was also really worried after the first half of Mirage. But again they show what mental strength the complete roster inherits. Incredible to comeback even after losing to the eco/half buy which got c9 to match point. Karrigan again stepped up massively when it mattered and shut down b. I am really happy for the whole team. Rain is basically a consistent rock with peaks like MVP major. Karrigan outcalls teams on a regular basis. Basically everyone can decide a game on their own. Wouldn't be right without them at the last major of csgo.

Don't know I don't follow the cis scene. But these two don't have the skillset required for a lineup who wants to lift a major trophy so better make the changes now and rebuild for CS2 around the three solid players they've got. It can't be worse than now.

I actually want to see kairon in there, especially since the rumore he is toxic are true. So when they start chocking kairon would bring some energy and motivation. Buster not an improvement, basically interz v2 and on mirage is even worse. Nafany and his calls no words.
