Falcons to go international as kennyS, Python are removed

The organization has stated their intent to become an English-speaking roster after their failed attempt to qualify for the BLAST Paris Major.

Falcons have announced that they are moving Jordan "⁠Python⁠" Munck-Foehrle to the bench and that Kenny "⁠kennyS⁠" Schrub is becoming a content creator for the organization. The moves come in the wake of their unsuccessful campaign at the BLAST Paris Major RMR.

The statement revealed that the organization intends to move to an English-speaking roster, and that the team would step back from competitive matches whilst options are considered for the two vacant roster spots. It also mentioned that kennyS' change of status was planned in advance.

Falcons, like many teams in the French scene, began revamping their roster late last year ahead of the BLAST Paris Major. kennyS was signed in November, replacing Bryan "⁠Maka⁠" Canda after Falcons’ failed attempt to qualify for the IEM Rio Major, and he was joined by Alexandre "⁠bodyy⁠" Pianaro early this year as the Saudi organization attempted to build a roster capable of qualifying for the Major in Paris.

The team showed promise soon after the addition of bodyy, taking second in both the Thunderpick Bitcoin Series 2 and OMEN WGR Challenge, and they successfully navigated the open qualifiers to make it to the BLAST Paris Major Europe RMR A.

At the RMR they took down MOUZ and Sprout, but series losses to GamerLegion and OG sent them to the Last Chance Qualifier. Falcons fought bravely over two maps against BIG but were ultimately bested by the Germans, ending their hopes of a Major appearance in their home country.

Python was Falcons' lowest-rated player, alongside kennyS, across the RMR and Last Chance Qualifier, whilst also being their joint-lowest across the whole of 2023. It originally seemed that Python would not be a part of this iteration of Falcons, however reports indicated that difficulties between bodyy and Ali "⁠hAdji⁠" Haïnouss meant the latter made way instead.

kennyS released a Twitlonger to provide his thoughts on his stint in Falcons, saying "I’m truly grateful for the chance that has been given to me, I had the chance to qualify and play the last CSGO major in my home country. Sadly it won’t be the case." The French AWPer felt like he showed he "was capable to come back at a really high level despite a large amount of time out of the competition," but he was "overwhelmed" by the RMR after arriving with "unrealistic and idealistic expectations."
