Maikil "⁠Golden⁠" Selim will make a temporary return to the server until a replacement is found.

GODSENT have announced that Joel "⁠joel⁠" Holmlund is no longer on the team's active roster and has been moved to the bench, bringing an end to a five-month stint in the team.

The announcement comes after a lackluster 2023 for GODSENT, as the Swedish squad lingered outside the top 40 in the world rankings and failed to qualify for a LAN tournament. They will now employ the services of coach Golden as a stand-in, with more information on joel's replacement set to be released in due course, according to their statement.

joel had the highest average rating in GODSENT

joel has been GODSENT's highest-rated player in 2023, averaging a 1.11 rating across 119 maps. His best event was BetBoom Playlist Urbanistic 2023, where the team secured a top-four placing after beating the likes of BIG, Sprout, and HEET, with the 18-year-old putting up a 1.41 rating across the tournament. He was also the only player with a +1 rating in their semi-final loss against Cloud9, putting up a 1.33 rating and 100 ADR in the team's most high-profile match so far.

Despite his fragging output, the team failed to reach the closing stages of the online tournaments they attended, as well as missed out on appearances at some high-profile LANs. GODSENT failed to pass the open RMR qualifiers and recently fell in the closed qualifier for both IEM Dallas and ESL Challenger Katowice, the latter being joel's final event with the squad.

The Swedish squad have no events lined up on HLTV at the moment, giving them ample time to sort out a replacement for the youngster. If they happen to play any matches, the organization has said it will field Golden as a stand-in during ongoing and future tournaments.

They could swap 1-for-1. I feel it's unlikely, but if the "brollan wants to speak swedish" narrative is more severe than portrayed, this could make sense. Would be sad tho, I like brollan despite his recent form.

How is Brollan the first person anyone wants gone when Rez hasn't been useful since Oakland. Brollan was a top 20 player like barely 2 years ago & he expressed he wanted an all swedish lineup when he joined and he was playing some of his best cs until the lineup collapsed and became international. Plus I'm ngl, I watched their demos from the major & brollan is doing sufficient at this point. Rez gotta go for sure if it's not k0nfig.

Not gonna dive too deep into it but if you go watch the latest matches that mattered, k0nfig bombed pretty much all of them, while on the other hand both REZ and brollan has done pretty well. Especially REZ. By latest matches I'm talking about Major and after. If rez and brollan had an off game their rating was something like .9 or .8 meanwhile k0nfig was 0.5 on more than one occasion, completely disappearing from the server and leaving the team into a 4v5. I like k0nfig but when he has an off game it's ridiculous.

Yeah I get wym, I'm ngl though Rez has probably has the worst playbook I've ever seen from a B anchor on Vertigo. He plays 2 off angles & then pivots on the bags angle by gen & if he's anywhere else he's so uncomfortable and forcing horrible 40/60 duels. Some of the stuff he did on Vertigo outright lost them that map. But I digress, you're right about k0nfig. Can't have the 2 most inconsistent nordic star riflers in 1 roster lol.
