The Ukrainian is taking an early break with the scene-wide player break on the horizon.

Update 17:29 : Monte have announced on Twitter that ex-OG Academy and current OG back-up rifler Max "⁠Marix⁠" Kugener will replace Viktor "⁠sdy⁠" Orudzhev while the Ukrainian in on leave.

It has been announced that sdy will be taking a break from competing with Monte for their upcoming matches going into the player break.

The announcement from Monte stated that sdy "is taking a break after a grueling season to come back with renewed vigor," and no information has yet been revealed about who will play in his stead.

sdy was influential in Monte's BLAST Paris Major campaign

Monte are set to compete in the upcoming Elisa Invitational Spring online tournament after receiving an invite from the tournament organizer directly into the quarter-finals. Their match is scheduled for June 8, so the team will need to find a stand-in by that time.

sdy joined Monte at the start of this year and has been a key component of their rise from tier-two obscurity to the upper echelons of the competitive scene. Taking up the in-game leadership reins, he helped the team terrorize the tier two online scene from the outset, even going on to win ESL Challenger League and several CCT events before going on an unexpected playoff run at the BLAST.tv Paris Major.

In Paris sdy helped his squad battle through the Challengers Stage with a 3-2 record, serving as the standout player in their qualification bout with paiN. There they shocked the world by qualifying for the playoffs, and again sdy was instrumental as he topped the scoreboard in Monte’s 2-0 rout of Natus Vincere to seal a quarter-finals berth.

GamerLegion proved too much for Monte in the playoffs themselves, but it was still a fantastic run for the team and sdy finished as their second-highest rated player over the Legends Stage and playoffs. Their top-eight finish saw the team rise to No. 10 in the world rankings.

Maybe, if you see the rates, but he tried and tried, that's the weight of being a S1mple's teammate, but he never became the star that all wanted. But hey, pressure is what make diamonds. He was very good in the Major and I think is thanks to the time on NaVi's roster. I'm a NaVi fan but I hope sdy to be way better player than now.

and if we were to judge things by results on the Major - we are inclined to agree with SDY. Cause blad3 is pushing electronic to be the IGL while SDY was set up to fail.
