Media: Fluxo in pursuit of paiN trio

In the wake of an underwhelming first half of the year, Fluxo are reportedly looking to revamp their roster in the off-season.

Fluxo are eyeing paiN’s trio of Vinicios "PKL" Coelho, Romeu "zevy" Rocco and Wesley "hardzao" Lopes, according to a report from GameArena. The organization are simultaneously trying to retain the services of Lucas "Lucaozy" Neves and Vinicius "vsm" Moreira, while João "felps" Vasconcellos and Adriano "WOOD7" Cerato's futures are uncertain.

It was emphasised in the report that nothing is yet decided, and that Fluxo may end up retaining more than just Lucaozy and vsm. It stated that much depends on paiN resolving the future of their lineup, with the organization reportedly in the hunt for Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo.

AWPer zevy is one of Fluxo's reported targets

Fluxo had an underwhelming season in the first half of 2023, winning CCT South America Series 4 in January but struggling to get much done beyond that. The squad failed to qualify for IEM Rio or BLAST’s Spring Showdown, and crashed out of the BLAST Paris Major with an 0-3 record. These results saw the team slide to No. 45 in the world rankings.

Allan "history" Lawrenz had already been moved to the bench by the AWPer’s own request following Fluxo’s ill-fated Major campaign, and now the two worst performers for the team of the tournament, WOOD7 and felps, may be on the way out.

paiN by contrast have impressed so far this year by making it to the playoffs of ESL Pro League, besting Liquid and OG along the way, and narrowly missing out on the Legends Stage at the BLAST Paris Major. Such was their success that they hit the organization’s peak ranking of No. 13 during this period.

MIBR bench Tuurtle, line up $280,000 bid for Lucaozy - Report

This report comes in the wake of revelations that FalleN is being targeted by several organizations and that Lucaozy is the subject of a bid from MIBR, indicating that a significant shake-up of the top Brazilian teams may be on the horizon.

Should all of the reported moves come to fruition, Fluxo would be:

in a midia sense, no. I barrely see anyone talk about, cs is huge in brasil, i can talk about with any guy -30yo tha he will be able to talk about cs...but in a consumer way, there are way too many kids playing freefire , ppl that don't have money to buy a computer for example.

LOL, Free Fire is bigger than CS worldwide! It has 2x active players in the last hour and 32x more active players in the past month. But yeah, in Brazil it's more popular than CS because of it's accessibility. The owner of Fluxo, Nobru, is actually Free Fire 2019 World Series champion.

Hard to say. Yes and no. Really difficult to say. Maybe there’s a bigger market and potential bigger viewership, but it loses on other fields. FURIA is for a fact the biggest Brazilian org, even though the most influential is probably LOUD, and they left Free Fire’s scene. Free Fire built 3 of Brazil’s biggest orgs: Fluxo, Los Grandes (now LOS) and LOUD, but one of them (LOS) is almost leaving the scene due to problems with Garena. LOS has seem to prioritize CS now that they fused with (read as bought) Team One, maybe the most traditional and victorious Brazilian FPS org along with MIBR. Except for LOUD, VKS and maybe some other that I forgot rn, every big Brazilian org invests on CS. Which does not happen with FF. I am not a FF watcher, so Idk much. What I know is that Nobru is a former FF World Champion and our second biggest streamer (only loses to Gaules ofc). So in the end, I can say that CS is bigger also because there is FalleN, our biggest esport personality and player, there is Gaules, our biggest streamer, and we host big tournaments of the game now. I’d love some corrections if any Brazilian wants to point out. Also, I’d say that if we strictly speak of national tournaments, LoL is definitely the greatest here. It just can’t surpass CS because we suck as fuck internationally. There’s a high chance of Valorant joining the discussion in near future.

Ty for spending your time and writing all of this. "LOS has seem to prioritize CS now that they fused with (read as bought) Team One," Bad investments from los grandes then, team one had 0 international results. Non-brazilians will remember them because they knocked EG from Paris RMR qualifieer. Maybe when maluk3 finally gone they will achieve smthing

Team One is a traditional org and has had success in R6 winning a Major, more than in CS. LOS most likely bought Team One for the tradition and the "know-how". Maluk3 has already gone. They are building an interesting academy team now and will most likely make the main roster around malbsMd and trk. Has been reported that they are in talks with short (ex-Arctic), one of our most promising IGLs, and together they are deciding the other two players.

Historically, yes. Fanbase-wise it’s hard to say. It’s like comparing Vitality to KCorp. Vitality is traditional, has many winning rosters, dominant in many games, but KCorp has Kamet0 and his viewers, which reflects on Nobru’s fans and his org, Fluxo.

They were originally a Free Fire org (mobile battle royale game that exploded in Brazil bcz its system requirements were very low, so it became very accessible and a massive hit) founded by 'Nobru' and 'Cerol' (two big Free Fire streamers) who eventually got into CS (same thing with Loud, but this one joining LoL and Valorant)

That would actually be a best case scenario for paiN to sign Fallen. Skullz is considered by many a top 3 brazilian player already and there's room to grow. Biguzera is at his peak and is solid. Nekiz is a good entryfragger. PKL is bad (and benched), hardzao is just ok and Zevy is awp, which ofc wouldn't be the best fit with Fallen. Long story short, paiN would retain their best pieces to work with Fallen and would have an open spot for some other big name. W/w situation.

My bet: Pain: - biguzera - skullz - NEKIZ - saffee - Chelo or JOTA FURIA: - FalleN - arT - yuuriih - KSCERATO - VINI or fer Fluxo: - vsm - lucaozy - zevy - PKL - Hardzao In my opinion just by changing the inner pieces between themselves all three teams would VASTLY improve!

I doubt Mibr would bench Turtle without having a deal with Luzaozy already, and I really hope he goes there as I have no hopes for Fluxo while Mibr actually looks promissing... this Pain looks really good actually but I'm not very confident they would buy chelo/jota out of Imperial (unless the team disband what I doubt), they would probably go for the drop + saffee duo, which is not ideal but not terrible either

I wanted to see Pain sticking together, only changing Saffee for zevy, but I guess Biguzera, Skullz, Nekiz, Saffee and drop (or chelo if they can get him out of Imperial) is not too bad either, I have no hopes for Fluxo though, hopefully at least Lucaozy goes to Mibr

Same players, diffent teams. The problem with brazilian CS is not the players. They should be focusing in understanding the game better, maybe get some european experience like a coach or something, to give them another view of the game. This changes are only good to make Fluxo beat other brazilian teams, but they'll still get shit on a major / other big events with european teams

Pain is just getting into the groove of things, they become a top 20 to 30 team, and pretty serious contenders and right when they get there they're in talks to sell their star players?!?!?! Makes perfect sense for a Brazilian organization. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

good upgrade but still not enough. this line is max 1-3 in a major challengers stage (considering that they would classify)

why does Brazilian CS have the worst roster shuffles ever? At least with NA i can accept that there is 1 good NA player so swapping between different players is the equivalent of moving chairs in a sinking ship, but Brazil has so much talent that these awful roster moves only hold the region back.

the moves not even started to happen how can you judge if they are good or not?

Because the shuffles don't solve the problem with each team. Furia is a lack of good tactics and Pain lacks skill so its obvious how to fix their problems. picking up Fallen MIGHT solve the tactics problem for Furia but now we are really lacking for firepower and Pain gains nothing from any of these shuffles besides lucaozy which might not happen.
