G2 trounce OG; to face FaZe in Group C consolidation final
Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov was the star of the show on Ancient as G2 cruised past their European counterparts.

G2 have advanced to the Group C consolidation final after demolishing OG 16-6 on Ancient and Inferno, casting Nemanja "nexa" Isaković's men down to the knockout stage and setting themselves up for a star-studded showdown versus FaZe on Wednesday at 15:00 .
Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač and company didn't get off to the start they would have wanted in Copenhagen as they fell 1-2 to the new-look Liquid in the teams' opening series, but have kept themselves alive in their group's lower bracket. The Bosnian rifler said the mood in the team remains high and that G2 focused more on their own game in their first two series, a result of not having anti-strat material to work off of for either of the new rosters they faced.
"Liquid showed again today that they are really amazing, and individually I think they are one of the best teams in the world," huNter- said after the game. "They beat us and we are really good individually, then they beat FaZe. They were shooting better than us and that's why they won in the end I think.
"It's never easy to play against the new teams, you all know that, but I'm happy that we managed to win today against OG, and hopefully we'll play against Liquid again."
G2 recovered in style from their opening series loss, the star power of Nikola "NiKo" Kovač and m0NESY combining for a dominant win on Ancient. The Russian superstar in particular was in fine form throughout the map, securing three or more kills in five rounds, eight multi-kills overall, and an ace to earn himself a 2.30 rating by the end of the team's 16-6 victory, a result of a flawless T side performance in the second half.
OG didn't fare any better on G2's pick of Inferno, and this time it was huNter- and Justin "jks" Savage who led the charge in a one-sided win for their side, resulting in a mirror scoreline from the first map. A strong 10-5 T side called by Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen and an unrelenting performance from G2's individuals left no room for OG to come online, and the series was brought to a swift end with another 16-6 victory.
