Lynn Vision, 5yclone claim CS:GO Asia Championships spots

Just one more spot remains undecided at the $500,000 tournament taking place in Shanghai on November 8-12.

The former Rare Atom team dominated the qualifying event

Lynn Vision and 5yclone have qualified for the CS:GO Asia Championships after making it to the grand final of the Perfect World Arena Premier League Season 5.

The two Chinese teams will join some of the world's best at their home tournament, including G2, ENCE, FaZe, MOUZ, and Liquid, who previously accepted an invitation to compete in Shanghai.

CS:GO Asia Championships participants' list:

The Perfect World Arena Premier League's fifth season took place over the past five days and boasted eight of Asia's best teams.

The MongolZ had been favored to go all the way and grab one of the two spots on offer at the CS:GO Asia Championships, but were unable to make it past the quarter-finals after narrow losses to Lynn Vision and Wings Up.

Lynn Vision and 5yclone dominated the competition and continue to establish themselves as the biggest forces in Asia outside of the Mongolian squad, with both set to play in ESL Pro League Season 18 and the former also at IEM Sydney.

The two teams will play for the fifth season's title and the ~$16,000 first-place prize on Sunday:

Yeah, they are two of the top teams in Asia literally, but still need to play more disciplined. They're not good at playing anti-eco or half-buys rounds.

Oh hey, for once 5yclone qualifies for something instead of playing third wheel to TheMongolz and Lynn Vision. LV now has three LANs on them, that’s good. Now to see how they perform on LAN and against international teams, especially EU opposition.

Finally Kaze and his men somehow managed to qualify from one of the recent qualifiers instead of throwing the finals .

eh even then, G2 for some weird reason has a giant fanbase in China. So they’ll carry viewership and crowd regardless.

yea even so it would be cool to see one in playoffs. I think in the last one Tyloo almost got to the finals losing in the semis to Mouz (champions) in a very close 1-2 match

I’m just one of the few people here willingly investing themselves into following Asian CS for various reasons whether I can. One reason being that I’m getting sick of International teams just obliterating everyone else and want something new, and IHC (now TheMongolz)’s performance at Katowice did just that since its been years since Asian CS did anything significant.

Yeah same I follow more the Asian, Americas and Pacific regions because I like the growing of smaller scenes But per example, where did you get the Tyloo rumours that you said in a thread?

It was from another HLTV user that happens to frequent the Chinese CS community. He couldn't make his own thread about it since he hasn't posted enough so I offered to post any rumors he comes across for him like I did with the TYLOO rumors until he can make threads himself.

the final spot served as the last resort in case all two spots were grabbed by mongols in this tournament. Since two chinese teams made it to the stage,it is possible that they will invite another top-tier team.

I hope Chinese teams can have more games with European teams to keep improving, instead of quickly declining like Wings Up after ESL challenger Melbourne 2022.

Lynn Vision’s likely China’s best hope. Currently on a roll at the moment. On paper, the team seems perfect. What they don’t have is LAN experience, especially international LAN experience.

Over the past year, they've always screwed up in the grand final of the qualifiers. That's why they used to be called lan-dodging XD

I blame that on V4D1M aka their matchfixing ex-“coach” :v Now that he’s been fired, they can finally show if they can perform against EU opposition and on LAN.

they could but they could invite a team like C9 instead. The invite was probably reserved for a local hero invite in case either LV or 5yclone failed. But since both qualified, now they don’t seem to know what to do with the remaining TBA spot.

they could but they might see having the two Chinese teams be enough. at best they could try to get C9 but no telling what'll they'll do about the last spot.
