ZOREE retires from competition

The Finnish AWPer hangs up the mouse after an 8-year-long career in Global Offensive.

The 29-year-old will retire after the Pelaajat Series Fall 2023

Lasse "⁠ZOREE⁠" Uronen has announced his retirement from competitive Counter-Strike. The seasoned Finnish player will make his final appearance at Pelaajat Series Fall 2023, a local Finnish tournament doubling as a BLAST Premier qualifier.

ZOREE spent his entire career in Finnish teams and first burst onto the scene in 2015 with RCTIC, who also featured Sami "⁠xseveN⁠" Laasanen and Eetu "⁠sAw⁠" Saha. His good performances earned him a call-up to iGame.com, where he came closest to a Major appearance after a 7-8th placing at the PGL Krakow 2017 European Minor.

He then moved on to represent SJ for just under a year but failed to secure a title with the organization before making the jump over to HAVU. His tenure in HAVU lasted over three years and was his most successful, as the team reached No. 14 in the world rankings. ZOREE also averaged his highest rating across a year in 2020 at 1.18.

His HAVU team were constantly at the top of the Finnish scene and secured several LAN titles. Some of them include the IESF World Championship 2018, ASUS ROG Winter 2020, and LanTrek 2020, while his final trophy came at the Elisa Open Finland Season 4 Finals in March of 2023 with JANO.

JANO marked the culmination of ZOREE's Counter-Strike journey, as the 29-year-old joined forces with Aleksi "⁠allu⁠" Jalli for a partnership that lasted over a year and predominantly competed in the online scene. Their efforts propelled the team to a peak world ranking of No. 74, and they are now gearing up for their final outing together at the Pelaajat Series Fall 2023.
