Official: Imperial sign noway

Imperial have confirmed the signing of Kaiky "⁠noway⁠" Santos, who will first taste action in the open qualifiers for ESL Challenger Jönköping on October 11. This confirms the Dust2.com.br report from October 3, where news first broke that Imperial were changing players.

The teenage prodigy has never played professionally but stood out as a streamer within Brazil and gained 138,000 followers on his Twitch channel.

He did play some HLTV-recorded officials in that time, racking up a 1.17 rating over his 11 maps for stream team Seleção do bt0 alongside Ricardo "⁠boltz⁠" Prass.

noway has also played in Imperial before, standing in for some practice sessions while Gabriel "⁠FalleN⁠" Toledo was still a member of the squad in 2022.

"He has a lot of talent, a lot of potential," FalleN said at the time. "He's a good player, of course he still lacks experience, but if he stays strong and dedicates himself he can be on the main teams in Brazil in the future." That has now transpired with his signing by Imperial.

Imperial played with Lucas "⁠LUCAS1⁠" Teles after the benching of Jhonatan "⁠JOTA⁠" Willian at BLAST Fall Showdown, but Dust2.com.br have reported that this was only due to noway not yet having secured a North American or Mexican visa.

They now look ahead to Counter-Strike 2 with noway on board, and are pencilled in to attend the ESL Jönköping qualifiers in October and have their LAN debut at the FiReLEAGUE 2023 Global Finals on November 8.

Yeah, we are really hoping that vini could be a great new igl, bc after fallen and art (both that are now in the same team) we don't really have anyone that (proved) could lead a t1 team. Biguzera from pain could be much better but he was stuck with so many noobs that we can't be sure.
