One of South America's best teams have now lost two of their stars in as many weeks.

Santino "⁠try⁠" Rigal has stepped down from 9z's active roster due to health reasons, the Argentinian organization announced on Twitter.

The announcement came moments ahead of the start of 9z's campaign in the ESL Challenger Jönköping South America closed qualifier.

The team is about to face off against RED Canids in the opening round, where 9z's coach, Gustavo "⁠tge⁠" Motta, will temporarily step in to play instead of the sidelined AWPer.

try's departure from the active roster comes as a second blow to 9z in as many weeks, after David "⁠dav1deuS⁠" Tapia Maldonado decided to step down from the roster earlier this month due to personal reasons.

The "La Violeta" squad reached into their 9z Academy roster and promoted Matias "⁠HUASOPEEK⁠" Ibañez Hernandez to fill that gap, but now have another puzzle to solve with the AWPer spot left vacant.

I doubt it, if you check 9z's media and the team's vlogs you can tell they have a very close relationship; some of these players have known each other for almost a decade (dgt and max). try probably has health issues we don't know of and so he had to step down. I can also imagine that dav1d stepped down because he never expected such an agitated lifestyle going everywhere all the time, so it's easy to develop homesickness. European players can travel from their countries to another one and be back in a day, so homesickness is not a huge issue, but for 9z players they gotta take planes that take over 24 hours at times to Europe or NA, then back home, then back there again, and so on. It's difficult mens))
