CS Asia Championships groups, schedule revealed

FaZe vs. NIP headlines the opening round of matches in Shanghai.

The CS Asia Championships LAN in Shanghai, China, is right around the corner. The tournament will run on November 8-12 with $500,000 to be split among the eight participating teams.

The CAC will kick off with a double-elimination group stage featuring two groups of four. The opening series will be best-of-ones before play moves to best-of-threes.

Each group's top seed will move to the semi-finals while the second and third-placed teams will play a four-team quarterfinal. The playoffs will be a simple, single-elimination bracket.

Two of the original eight teams set to play in China fell by the wayside, Liquid and G2, and were replaced by Ninjas in Pyjamas and Wings Up, respectively.

The two late additions landed in Group B, where the fourth-best team in the world, MOUZ, and the first CS2 Big Event champions, FaZe, have also been drawn.

Group A has ENCE as its top seed followed by the Danes of Astralis. Two Chinese sides round out the group: The new TYLOO, formerly known as Rare Atom/5yclone, and Lynn Vision.

The first Group A opener will kick off on November 8 at 05:00 , pitting ENCE vs. TYLOO, followed by the second right after, at 06:30 featuring Astralis vs. Lynn Vision. The upper and lower bracket finals will ensue to close out the group.

The second day of play, November 9, will follow the same times, with MOUZ and Wings Up opening the Group B matches followed by FaZe vs. Ninjas in Pyjamas and then the two final series in either bracket to close the group stage out.

The playoffs will last two days, starting on Saturday, November 11, and finishing the following day. The two quarter-finals will be played on the first day, followed by the semis and grand final on championship Sunday.
