Heroic through to Thunderpick playoffs as dupreeh shines in BIG victory

Three stand-ins, no problem, HEROIC say as they qualify for the playoffs of the $500,000 event.

HEROIC have advanced to the Thunderpick World Championship playoffs after coming out on top of Group D with a 2-1 win over BIG. The Germans have one more chance to make it to the bracket stage in a match against FURIA later today for the second spot in the group.

HEROIC continued to play with three stand-ins, and all of them played a solid series, but one stood above them all: Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen.

Heroic sign dupreeh until the end of 2023

The 30-year-old's 1.48 rating in the series made all the difference as he topped the charts on Nuke and Vertigo to help HEROIC recover from an Ancient loss at the beginning of the three-map affair.

dupreeh's clutch in the second round of Nuke prevented the map from getting away from HEROIC early and ensured their 6-0 start to the offense. After BIG recovered the half with the last six rounds, the five-time Major winner won the pistol for his team with a triple, setting off another streak that saw the Danes equalize the series.

dupreeh picked up where he left off with another pistol triple to kick off Vertigo as HEROIC got off to another rocket start on the decider.

His 16 kills on the offensive half put his team two-thirds of the way to victory, and from there HEROIC just needed to stop BIG's momentum early in the second half to get the series over the finish line.

HEROIC will start their playoffs campaign on Friday, when they face off against one of Virtus.pro, Monte, or Complexity in the quarter-finals.

It's just great to see dupreeh performing so good after his break and how Vitality treated him. Hope he can substain this performance and get a contract beyond 2023.

he talked about his Vitality problems on HLTV confirmed and he pretty much confirmed that his bad stats towards the end came from him being put into the worst positions on pretty much every map combined with him playing these positions for the first time in his career. Vitality should not have removed him like that, they should have tried to shuffle around their positions more to make everyone more comfortable. But it is their mistake and now they lost all of their ex-Astralis members and don't have any experienced veteran players left, to counterbalance apEX' malding.

Exactly this. I don't understand why Vitality is giving no love to some of their players. It's always ZywOo, apEX and Spinx. Magisk's been performing quite well in recent time too and he doesn't get the recognition the others would get. It's just sad...

i don't think its a mistake, its was more out of necessity, apex should take those positions but he sucks at support, like properly sucks, remember magisk having to move to B in inferno because apex and spynx couldn't do anything? magisk of all people the king of pit, so their choices were really limited and dupreeh had to go into more supportive positions, now we can make the argument about changing igl all you want but apex style was effective, so that really only left changing dupreeh, i was not happy about, i think apex needs to learn to adapt more but hey i'm not here to criticize a dude that one way or another has manage to stay in tier1 for a decade and somehow always be the one player that never gets kicked

You have to be made out of stone to not feel good for Dupreeh about this. So many hltv users have written him off, he's been thrown off Vitality for FlameZ, so to see him bounce back and be the best player on a roster also containing Sjuush and Teses, that's just wholesome- almost cathartic.

I'm sorry but on the event page hltv.org/events/7289/thunderpick-world-c.. there is 9-12th position for Nouns but they lost 2 games to my knowledge. Is that an error?
