PARI announce new Belgrade event

The Serbian capital is set to play host to its second PARI event in 2023.

Spirit won PARI Dunav Party in August

PARI, Please, an upcoming eight-team LAN tournament held in Belgrade from November 16-20, has been announced.

The $100,000 event will feature a GSL-style group stage, with the top four teams from the group stage heading to a single-elimination playoff bracket. All matches in the tournament will be in a best-of-three format, except the final, which will be best-of-five.

PARI, Please will be the second event hosted by the same organizer in Belgrade, with Spirit winning the inaugural PARI Dunav Party event held in August.

The team list for the event is as follows:

BetBoom will be the highest-ranked team in attendance. The Vladislav "nafany" Gorshkov-led team is among the favorites for the event after their impressive start to CS2, as they recently won CCT Central Europe Series 8 and made the playoffs of the first CS2 Big Event in IEM Sydney.

Joining them in Group A will be MIBR, Movistar Riders, who are set to debut with David "dav1g" Granado Bermudo in the IGL role, as well as fellow Russian squad 9 Pandas.

Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo's FURIA headline Group B, with the Brazilian squad joined by Eternal Fire, Aurora, and the lowest-ranked team in attendance, PARIVISION.

The schedule for the tournament is as follows:

I'd argue it's a t2 event. The average team rank is 30 and the prize pool is only $100k.

Could have been the case if they didn't put their own team into the group with EF and Furia, also Aurora is there, which on paper with deko is way better team than Parivision, while other group has MR without their IGL, 9Pandas and Mibr. Unless you think that EF, Furia and Aurora (a team of competitor) will fix for them, of course. Same for Astralis, Heroic, C9, VP and potentially NiP, BIG, Apeks, Spirit or Fnatic (most likely 2 of those, I don't think Aurora will be 1 of two teams even after winning a group) in BBD event (although we don't know the groups yet)

BetBoom Dacha -- BetBoom [invited] Pari Please - Parivision [invited] gambling websites creating their own CS teams, then suddenly they all sponsor their own tournaments where their own teams are "invited" for.. they're definitely not trying to boost their own teams rankings by doing this (they are) and you just know that BetBoom paid PARI 1 gazillion dollars for them to "invite " their team to this

well betboom did well in the 100% bet-free and innocent sydney tournament, so they deserve to be invited to tournaments anyways, probably more than navi or vitality at this point who are unproven in cs2

So now we're entering a new era of sketchy betting and gambling companies, located in Cyprus, hosting tournaments with their very own teams in attendance? This takes "conflict of interests" to new uncharted heights. Just when I thought CS scene cannot surprise me anymore, it does it again.

As if anybody really cares, Valve uses their own ranking based on prize money, ESL will likely don't count that event in their ranking and Blast is almost exclusive for partners and they have no chances to be there anyway.

right now, TO's still invite teams "using" the HLTV rankings. PARI are #90 in HLTV ranking rn they wont get invited for any event unless PARI pays the TO's to "invite" their team. but by boosting their team ranking with this kind of events they will go up in the rankings, get invited for more events and who knows maybe get some prize money and go up the Valve rankings

A bit late talking about it when they finished dead last, isn't it? Also who exactly uses HLTV ranking for invites? Someone like CCT that invites top 99 teams (500)? Well, this is exactly the type of tournament that team should be playing at best anyway.
