Heroic to field salazar at BLAST World Final

The 19-year-old ECSTATIC member will make his Big Event debut in the stand-in stint with Heroic.

HEROIC will use Jason "⁠salazar⁠" Salazar as a stand-in at the BLAST Premier World Final after reaching an agreement to loan the 19-year-old from ECSTATIC for the tournament taking place in Abu Dhabi, UAE, on December 13-17.

The young AWPer temporarily steps into the roster to fill a vacant spot after Casper "⁠cadiaN⁠" Møller played his last tournament with HEROIC in last week's BLAST Premier Fall Final. The team has also revealed that René "⁠TeSeS⁠" Madsen will take over in-game leadership at the World Final.

The $1 million tournament will serve as salazar's first taste of tier-one competition. His only other international LAN appearances came at ESL Challenger stops in Melbourne and Katowice earlier this year.

Peter "⁠dupreeh⁠" Rasmussen and Rasmus "⁠Zyphon⁠" Nordfoss will continue to play for HEROIC at the Abu Dhabi event, as previously announced.

It is unclear whether any of the trio could remain on the team heading into 2024, with HEROIC yet to announce their plans after also losing Martin "⁠stavn⁠" Lund and Jakob "⁠jabbi⁠" Nygaard to Astralis.
