Wildcard take EG's place in Copenhagen RMR closed qualifier

Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz's side will benefit from the collapse of EG's Counter-Strike operation.

stanislaw turned out for EG Black as recently as April

Wildcard have confirmed, in a comment to Dust2.us, that they have received an invite to PGL Major Copenhagen's North American RMR closed qualifier.

Evil Geniuses, after sources in a report from Richard Lewis suggested they would leave Counter-Strike, have recently pulled out of the Louvre Agreement and sold their BLAST Premier spot to Cloud9.

The main lineup is down to two, in the form of Colby "Walco" Walsh and Timothy "autimatic" Ta. The latter's contract expires in January, and the Major-winner has confirmed to HLTV that he will take a 1-3 month break from competition.

Wildcard, featuring stanislaw and Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek, are currently ranked #25 in Valve's Americas ranking and thus were next in-line to receive an invite to skip the open qualifier stage.

They and the seven already invited squads will be joined in the closed qualifier by eight more teams (four from each of the two open qualifiers). The lineup for the event is now as follows:

To be fair, NRG and Liquid have rosters with NA players. But all regions have their ups and downs, just ask the Polish, French or Swedish scenes :/

reverse order, the french only really have zywoo and apex, maybe 3dmax and jackz, atleast the polish have ENCE, 9INE (if they stay in cs), kRasNaL, mantuu, and siuhy + snax is on a notable team

forgot about afro but even then, he's pretty iffy i had high hopes for the guy but i mean 2023 his rating vs top 20 is a whopping 1.02, he farmed the living shit out of tier 2 and i still have hope for him under an igl not named dexter, but it doesn't look promising for a 24 year old to switch up their entire trajectory out of nowhere

m8, the Swedish scene is the one with the big F, they quite literally have no one right now.

the swedes kinda did it to themselves though, instead of trying out new talent they just recycled the same players over and over again and it never worked. the polish scene used to be pretty big and it just fucking vanished

yeah what happened to the Swedish scene is basically what happened to the NA scene in a nutshell, so can relate. And poland was the same as it was solely the original polish VP and no one else for years, which consequently nuked its onstage rep.

Hope some of the NA teams can make it through the actual RMR to get some NA representation at the Majors.
