Grayhound complete lower bracket run to reach Asia RMR

Australia's top side will vie for a Major spot at the Asia RMR in Shanghai.

The hounds beat local opposition to book a ticket to Shanghai

Grayhound secured their spot at the PGL Major Copenhagen Asia RMR after completing a lower bracket run in the Oceania Closed Qualifier, which culminated with a revenge victory over Bad News Kangaroos in the final series.

Former MOUZ and fnatic captain Christopher "⁠dexter⁠" Nong, who joined back up with the hounds ahead of the 2024 season, led the way for his squad both tactically and on the scoreboard, topping the qualifier's leaderboard with a 1.46 rating.

It wasn't an easy gauntlet for Grayhound, who were sent down to the lower bracket in the second round of best-of-ones by Bad News Kangaroos, but they didn't falter when up against the ropes. They took out Vantage, Mindfreak, and Rooster without giving up a map on the way to the grand final.

Revenge was then served in the do-or-die match against the upper bracket winners, Bad News Kangaroos. A team effort on Vertigo made it 1-0 before dexter laid down the law with a 2.26 rating (21 kills, 150 ADR) in a 13-3 thrashing on Anubis.

Up next for The Boys is a trip to the Asia RMR in Shanghai, China, which will run on February 26-28 with two spots up for grabs in the Major's Opening Stage. So far, they join The MongolZ and Lynn Vision, who qualified from the East Asia and China qualifiers, respectively.

Grayhound have no competition apart from Mongolz. Lynn vision and Tyloo are dogwater and Middle East teams are literally who? Idk if people forgot but Grayhoynd finally got rid of shakerbye brother sico and have an IGL who has a lot of international experience and who knows how to play meta CS. If GH had better awper they might actually sneak through challener stage with some luck.

if you were watching CS in the second half of 2023 you'd realize that Grayhound have been going on a massive downhill spiral. And dexter probably isn't going to make anything that much better. He couldn't even much with MOUZ and Fnatic in 2023. Not even CS's resident Aussie SPUNJ thinks Grayhound will make it.

Dexter addition solves some issues with this team 1) Ins, who actually looked like a good fragger, doesnt have to igl and will focus on his game instead 2) Doesnt matter how bad dexter was on fnatic, he is in fact better than IGL than INS with all his experience 3) Despite the fact that Dexter will be an igl its a massive upgrade over Sico
