The Australian IGL comes back to the organization he represented for over two years.

dexter will don the Grayhound jersey once again

Grayhound have announced the signing of Christopher "⁠dexter⁠" Nong from fnatic. The 29-year-old takes over Simon "⁠Sico⁠" Williams' spot on the roster following the Kiwi's departure on Monday.

Sico leaves Grayhound after five years

dexter is no stranger to Grayhound, having represented the organization throughout 2017-2019 before his transfer to Renegades, where he spent another year. His high-fragging performances in the Oceanian scene then earned him a move to Europe, as MOUZ signed him to replace Finn "⁠karrigan⁠" Andersen.

dexter achieved moderate success in MOUZ and secured a semi-final placement at the IEM Rio Major 2022 and a first-place finish at Flashpoint 3. The team struggled for much of 2023, however, which prompted the organization to sign Kamil "⁠siuhy⁠" Szkaradek in his place.

He quickly found a new home in fnatic, where his stint lasted just five months, with the 29-year-old now poised to re-enter his domestic scene after a three-year absence.

Good move, for both Europe and Australia. His newly gained experience can certainly help elevate the Aussie scene. Hopefully we'll get another renegades run at some point. Plus, he's with his son now.

Iirc when Dexter was still in AU back then and he was rumoured to leave for EU, people started saying that he would have to leave his son behind. He does not have a son. And there were also rumours that orgs did not approach because they thought he would not leave AU because of his son.

While I think this spells the end of his career for winning big silverware, I think this is a great move for him to bring some help back to Oceania, focus more on being a teacher and enjoying the game and not giving it all for glory, and of course it’s always great to finish where it started. Loved Sexter at Mouz and wish him the best. Home calls.

Yeah, pretty much my own thoughts. All the best to the man... and this region certainly could use an experienced player. I'm not expecting Grayhound to start making playoff runs, but CS would be a more fun place with an Aussie team playing spoiler at some point down the line. One can dream.

now when sico is finally gone and dexter takes over igl role from ins, who is a good fragger, with a bit of luck and bucholz magic there is a slim chance they might go far if only they had better awper than alistair. Remember, they went 2-3 on Challenger stage of Paris Major losing both bo3s to Liquid and NIP, that was their biggest success in years.
