ENCE stun Vitality to set up match vs G2 in Katowice
The current world No.1 team finds itself on the brink of elimination in Poland.

ENCE pulled off a major upset in the group stage of IEM Katowice after beating Vitality in a three-map series. The current world No.1 team looked sluggish and off the pace in their first match on Polish soil, with a blowout victory on Anubis being the only bright spot of an otherwise uninspired display.
Fresh off victories over Astralis and The MongolZ, the Polish side came out firing on all cylinders on Vertigo, where Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander turned in another strong individual performance. They were able to reset from the Anubis thrashing and won the series on Nuke, where Olek "hades" Miskiewicz dominated the map on the T side.
“Of course we’re underdogs, we feel pretty confident," Kacper "Kylar" Walukiewicz said after the match. "We don’t have anything to lose. It was pretty easy to play, without pressure. We didn’t have to win. It was all on them."

ENCE hopped out to an early lead on Vertigo off the back of a 1v2 clutch from gla1ve in the pistol round before Vitality got on the scoreboard once they had money in the bank. Dan "apEX" Madesclaire began taunting his opponents as his team enjoyed a spell of dominance, but ENCE regained control of the game and ended the half up by two.
The Polish team kept the intensity high on the CT side and went on a 5-0 run to hit map point. It was only then that Vitality got their first round of the half, but it amounted to nothing as ENCE put the game to bed.
After posting just four kills on Vertigo, Lotan "Spinx" Giladi seemed to wake up as he picked up a trio of frags in the opening round of Anubis to put his team in the lead. ENCE then strung three rounds together, but the rest of the half was all Vitality, who were led by an inspired performance from apEX.
The second half brought more of the same as Vitality charged their way through ENCE’s defense with ease. hades still came up huge with a quad kill on the A site with the AWP, but Vitality responded immediately afterward and secured the map.
The first half of Nuke was a T-side masterclass from ENCE. The Polish team hit back on a force buy after losing the pistol round and darted their way through Vitality’s leaky defense for the rest of the half, with hades posting a sensational 2.44 rating.
ENCE added to their lead after switching to the T side, capitalizing on a pair of Dual Berettas frags by Paweł "dycha" Dycha in a timely flank. The Polish team kept their composure at all times, even after an unfortunate PC crash, and soaked up the pressure from their opponents to lock down the map in the 21st round.
