PGL Major Copenhagen Europe RMR A is wrapped and the first eight teams who will head to Copenhagen in March are known:

Another eight spots will be decided through EU RMR B, which will begin on Monday, with a 17th spot going to the winner of the Last Chance qualifier between all teams with 2-3 records from RMR A and B.

The Asia RMR, slated to run from February 26-28, will then award two spots at the Major, while the final five spots will be earned by teams at the Americas RMR from March 1-4.

Note: The distribution of teams between the Opening Stage (formerly Challengers Stage) and the Elimination Stage (formerly Legends Stage) won't be determined until the end of the Americas RMR, at which point teams will be seeded based on their Valve regional ranking.

Turkey Eternal Fire 13-1 Russia BetBoom

After a tough draw at this RMR, which featured games against top sides G2 and FaZe, Eternal Fire have overcome their opposition to lock down their first Major appearance in almost two years.

BetBoom will now be languishing in the Last Chance Qualifier, competing with five other squads for just a single spot at the Major.

Turkey Eternal Fire 11-1 Russia BetBoom

With all cylinders firing on the side of Eternal Fire, it looks like the Turkish squad are going to be returning to Counter-Strike's most prestigious event since their appearance at PGL Major Antwerp.

Turkey Eternal Fire 8-1 Russia BetBoom

After BetBoom finally laid claim to a round on their T side, Eternal Fire have retorted with three straight rounds of their own, securing them the edge as half time rapidly approaches.

Turkey Eternal Fire 5-1 Russia BetBoom

With time wavering and three Eternal Fire players drawn to the A site, Danil "danistzz" Roslyakov and Aleksandr "KaiR0N-" Anashkin made a play towards the B bombsite, slipping through the cracks of the Eternal Fire defense to secure their first round of the map.

Turkey Eternal Fire 3-0 Russia BetBoom

Eternal Fire are aiming to close this series out without having to step foot on the decider of Overpass, with the Turkish side snagging the first three rounds to get a solid start to their CT side.

Turkey Eternal Fire 13-7 Russia BetBoom

I know that Mirage is already over, and we're getting ready to get into Vertigo, but I wanted to make sure that we properly appreciate just how nuts this round was from Eternal Fire to get things over the line.

Just sit back and enjoy.

Turkey Eternal Fire 13-7 Russia BetBoom

After a somewhat labored start to their T side, Eternal Fire have laid claim to BetBoom's map pick following a chaotic final round.

The series now heads to Eternal Fire's pick of Vertigo, where they will be looking to close things out with a quick 2-0.

Turkey Eternal Fire 11-5 Russia BetBoom

After dropping the pistol and subsequent conversion, Eternal Fire are back on the board after a clean play from Ali "Wicadia" Haydar Yalçın, dispatching BetBoom's B hold with ease.

Turkey Eternal Fire 10-2 Russia BetBoom

After incredibly dominant showings from Özgür "woxic" Eker and Ismailcan "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş, Eternal Fire have carved out double-digit rounds heading into their T side.

BetBoom doubled their round count at the end of the half by claiming their second round of the game, an unbelievably poor showing on their map pick.

The only reason for me to cheer for 9pandas. A good looking sticker, sadly most of the teams have opted for a minimalist shit instead of a more complex design

How times have changed. To imagine a portuguese team qualifying to a major after being 0-2 and then proceed to eliminate NIP and FNATIC. It would have been so much more impactful not so long ago.. Regardless, history was made today, CONGRATS SAW!! 7 portuguese players in a major!!

You bet bro, who is around a long time knows how NIP and FNATIC were the leading orgs in the scene. Today we proved that we are at a higher level then ever. Hoping this MAJOR will bring us a brighter future not only for SAW but for the Portuguese scene.

Looking at the form of the teams from the respective regions, five spots is definitely too many for the Americas and two spots is definitely not enough for Asia. From the Americas, only Liquid, coL and FURIA are major quality teams. As for Asia, the Mongolz definitely deserves a spot and the Chinese teams, e.g. RA, Tyloo, etc, are definitely no worse than FURIA/Liquid. I guess Asia includes Oceania too? Not that there are any decent Australian teams right now, but will be sad not to see them at all.

Well, they are clearly the best regional (SA) team. There is clearly also a huge amount of skill and potential in that lineup - otherwise they would not have put those players together - but they are clearly also struggling to make it work. When they do figure out how to make it work, which is what must be their biggest focus right now, they have the potential to reach their previous highs. But, even in their current poor form, it would be a mistake for any team to underestimate them.

Are you sure that Furia/Liquid are not better then Tyloo or RA? 😅 They are not going through their best moment but that's a stretch....

The Asian scene is definitely cooking. On the whole, they are on the up, while the Americas scene is on the down. coL is the only strong team in the region right now. Liquid have a new roster that is completely unproven. FURIA is in the biggest of slumps. The rest of the NA teams are a joke. SA teams like 9z as well as some of the Brazilians, e.g. MIBR, are doing ok, but none of them look better than the Asian equivalents. In fact, the Asian scene is very vibrant right now with strong competition for top spots and no clear outliers (like coL in the Americas). Did you know that over 3,000 teams signed up for the Chinese open qualifiers? We should see some promising performances from there in the near future, hopefully, but having only two spots is definitely unfairly hurting that region.

Don't really know the situation there, 3000 teams it's really good! Hopefully we will enjoy those promising performances! I understand how only having two spots might not be fair but I also believe if they continue to be in a growing force they will have more spots hopefully!
