Official: NIP confirm changes; Young Ninjas players to stand-in
Ninjas in Pyjamas enter the next transfer window ahead of time following their PGL Major RMR disaster.

Ninjas in Pyjamas have benched Patrick "es3tag" Hansen, Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke, Daniil "headtr1ck" Valitov and released coach Daniel "djL" Narancic, the organization has announced, confirming a Sunday report of the move from HLTV.
Only Fredrik "REZ" Sterner, who has been with the team since 2017, and Ninjas in Pyjamas' latest signing, in-game leader Alejandro "alex" Masanet, now remain on the active roster as the organization looks to rebuild.
To temporarily fill the void and give the organization time to build a competitive lineup post-RMR and Major, NIP has promoted Max "maxster" Jansson, Leo "Silence" Ingvarsson, and Maoz "BluePho3nix" Paz from Young Ninjas to play in the BLAST Spring Showdown and onward until a new lineup can be formed. NIP's General Manager, Björn "THREAT" Pers, will also temporarily step in as coach.
The announcement follows the team's disastrous campaign at the PGL Major Copenhagen Europe RMR A tournament, where Ninjas in Pyjamas went out in last place with losses to Eternal Fire, AMKAL and SAW to miss out on a Major spot for the first time since 2018.
The RMR failure was only the latest of a series of disappointing exits dating back to the middle of 2023, which have seen the organization plummet to its lowest-ever 27th ranking.
Extensive changes then come as little surprise given the organization's goal to have a title-winning roster. In a recent video, THREAT and NIP's Director of Esports, Erik Wendel, acknowledged the team's poor form and outlined their commitment to putting Ninjas in Pyjamas back "on the very top" by January 2025, when they will no longer be able to rely on franchise spots in ESL and BLAST circuits.

Wendel stated at the time that the team is not afraid to splash the cash at the right time, and that, should the current lineup not prove itself, they would look at options to get "a superstar signing" after the RMR or Major.
"We expect the next few months to present many interesting opportunities and we are well-positioned to capitalize: we have a strong financial position, top-tier infrastructure and a ton more data on what makes a good CS2 player," the organization said in its announcement. "Most importantly, though, we have an established philosophy of practicing and managing all the things that constitute vibes, and a player mindset that fits that philosophy.
"A few months from now, a new squad of Ninjas will rise from the ashes, and the whole team is working with a clarity of purpose that infuses us with hope for the future. Whether it all works out, we cannot predict — but we expect our fans to keep holding us to account."
Ninjas in Pyjamas will temporarily be:
Fredrik "REZ" Sterner
Alejandro "alex" Masanet
Max "maxster" Jansson (stand-in)
Leo "Silence" Ingvarsson (stand-in)
Maoz "BluePho3nix" Paz (stand-in)
Björn "THREAT" Pers (stand-in coach)
Daniil "headtr1ck" Valitov (benched)
Patrick "es3tag" Hansen (benched)
Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke (benched)
