Into the Breach bench duo after RMR elimination

Changes are sweeping through the international team after a disappointing showing in Bucharest.

Into the Breach have benched Kévin "⁠misutaaa⁠" Rabier and Aurimas "⁠Bymas⁠" Pipiras, the UK-based organization has announced. This is part of a series of changes to the team following a failed qualification for PGL Major Copenhagen.

The international squad was unable to repeat the qualification campaign from the BLAST Paris Major cycle as they were eliminated from the Europe RMR A tournament with a 0-3 record following defeats to ​​G2, BetBoom and 3DMAX.

In a message posted on Into the Breach's website, Sam Macedonio, the organization’s CEO, spoke of the hardship of putting together a team that could build on the playoff run at the Paris Major after losing several key members.

"Through that aim, we’ve played with players like Qikert, Maxster, Tomiko, Bodyy, NEOFRAG, Bymas, and Misutaaa – all excellent players with high potential, and we’re grateful to everyone who has played under the ITB banner," Macedonio said.

"Unfortunately, it just hasn’t worked out for us, and the lackluster performance at the RMR means we’re essentially back to square one in terms of roster development. This is the nature of Counter-Strike, and it is in an especially virile ecosystem now, evidenced by comparable difficulties from rosters fielded by orgs with vast experience, such as OG, BIG, NIP, Falcons, and even Astralis."

Neither misutaaa nor Bymas was part of the lineup that attended the Paris Major. Bymas joined the team in July 2023 alongside Adam "⁠NEOFRAG⁠" Zouhar to fill the voids created by the departures of Cai "⁠CYPHER⁠" Watson and Sebastian "⁠volt⁠" Maloș, while misutaaa was recruited three months later to replace Thomas "⁠Thomas⁠" Utting, who had stepped down from the roster due to personal reasons.

The announcement comes just days after Gustavo "⁠Juve⁠" Alexandre revealed that he was open to offers. According to Macedonio, the Portuguese coach has also been moved to the bench.

"We’re discussing with the rest of the roster how to move next and what is best for their careers, but one thing is clear – we will commit to a new core of the same nationality, whether that be U.K or otherwise, we’re done with mixes," Macedonio added.
