The final round of the Swiss stage will feature rematches of two IEM Katowice encounters.

Day 3 of the Europe RMR B tournament has come to a close, with Vitality, Apeks and Spirit punching their tickets to Copenhagen, and Preasy, Monte and OG being sent packing.

Three more teams will qualify for the Major on Thursday via the fifth Swiss round, which will be headlined by a clash between ENCE and Astralis. The two teams recently faced each other in the Play-In stage of IEM Katowice, where Lukas "⁠gla1ve⁠" Rossander put in a series-high 1.38 rating to help beat his former team 2-0.

But that’s not the only rematch of an IEM Katowice clash. HEROIC and GamerLegion will face off again just two weeks after playing out a three-map affair in the group stage of the Polish event.

The other 2-2 match will pit ECSTATIC and Guild Eagles, two teams separated by only four positions in the world ranking. The last time the two teams faced each other, back in November, the Kosovar side ran out 2-1 winners.

For the three teams that lose tomorrow, the road to the Major won’t end here. They will have another shot at qualification via the last-chance qualifier, where they will be joined by the teams with a 2-3 record from the RMR A tournament (BetBoom, 9 Pandas and fnatic).

The best system is where top rated teams play low rated teams. Swiss system is probably the worst, not to mention BO1.

Top rated teams play low rates teams in first 2 rounds of Swiss. And top rated teams need to prove that they deserve their high seeding in these 2 rounds. I agree that Bo1 should go but it is what it is. Though it would be funny if teams matchups were determined by HLTV voting.

Feels like 9 Pandas are the only team out of RMR A that has even managed to show any kind of flash of form. Doesn't really feel like they have 2-3 very strong games in a row in them though. Sure, RMR B team winning is not a guarantee with this format... but the odds feel like they're in 70-30 territory.

makes no sense how so many still like astralis. It is literally a whole new team then the trophy winning astralis from 5+ yeas ago, which was majorly successively to the IGL(glaive). Ever since they removed him, they haven't amounted to squat. And with the most recent 2 million dollar purchase, causing the destruction of the good heroic team, they've only gotten worse. They were barely able to squeeze out a 2-1 victory out of monte, of which 2 of the players were experiencing health issues.
