ECSTATIC book spot at home Major

ECSTATIC are the first fully Danish squad to have secured a spot in Copenhagen so far.

ECSTATIC held strong on the CT side of Overpass to qualify for the Major

ECSTATIC will join Rasmus "⁠HooXi⁠" Nielsen, Finn "⁠karrigan⁠" Andersen and Lukas "⁠gla1ve⁠" Rossander as the local representation to have qualified so far for the Major in Copenhagen. There could also be more joining as HEROIC and GamerLegion's Danish players will play for a spot in the last decider match of the RMR, while Astralis have one last shot in the last chance qualifier.

The Danes qualified in a complicated decider match against Guild Eagles, a team that has made the past three Majors — twice after prevailing in the 2-2 matches at the RMR. Now, a new generation of Major neophytes have pushed their way through the high-stakes decider match to immortalize their names in the game.

The Patrick "⁠Patti⁠" Larsen-led squad did so despite losing Ancient in an incredibly one-sided affair. Guild Eagles set the pace from beginning to end on their map pick, imposing their no holds barred style of play to a 13-3 scoreline with Genc "⁠gxx-⁠" Kolgeci ending on a round 2.00 rating.

ECSTATIC tightened up on Inferno, their map pick, and were successful on the attacking side with a crucial 5-1 start despite losing the pistol round. An 8-4 buffer at the half then proved enough, as key plays like Magnus "⁠Nodios⁠" Olsen's ace to keep his team in the lead when Guild Eagles were about to even things up eventually got the Danes over the line 13-9.

Starting on the CT side of Overpass paid off for ECSTATIC, although early on things weren't very straightforward. Two clutches by Dionis "⁠sinnopsyy⁠" Budeci and Flatron "⁠juanflatroo⁠" Halimi made it 4-4 early on, but after failing to convert against a forcebuy in the following round, the Eagles started to plummet.

The second pistol round was crucial for Guild Eagles to set up a wall and build an economy that would get them on the comeback path, but ECSTATIC won it and were then resilient in their attacks, losing but one round before pushing through and securing their berth in Copenhagen.

Guild Eagles are not out of the running yet. The Kosovar team has been relegated to the last chance qualifier, where BetBoom, 9 Pandas, fnatic and Astralis are waiting. One more team will also be joining them at the LCQ to make it an even six teams: the loser of the European RMRs' final decider match pitting HEROIC and GamerLegion.
