Liquid, NIP, ENCE, BIG invited to $350,000 LAN in India

Skyesports Masters will welcome four more teams, two via invites and two via EU and Indian qualifiers.

REZ and NIP will be heading to India in April

Indian tournament organizer Skyesports has announced four invites to its $350,000 Masters LAN, set to take place from April 8-14, 2024. The city and venue for the event are yet to be announced.

The eight-team tournament will be filled out by two more overseas invitees and by the victors of two closed qualifiers (one for European teams and one for Indian sides).

Having been initially announced as a franchise league, the Skyesports Masters has since changed into a standalone LAN tournament with only one local team. The organizer is also running a four-team international LAN in March featuring Aurora and Bad News Kangaroos.

Skyesports to run $350,000 LAN event in April

The Skyesports Masters event will run concurrently with IEM Chengdu, so it makes sense that Liquid and ENCE, who failed to qualify for ESL's Chinese event, headline the invited team list so far.

They are joined by Ninjas in Pyjamas and the new-look BIG, who recently signed Florian "syrsoN" Rische and Jon "JDC" de Castro. NIP will be using Young Ninjas players as stand-ins for the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown after dismantling their RMR roster, but should have time to assemble a full lineup for their trip East.

The full team list is now as follows:

Given the players they have should they be losing any games against tier 2 teams? Should they be losing maps to wildcard and party astronauts? Do you think a tier 1 team would do that?

Did you see the "Sometimes"? You clearly didnt... and i mean yeah, they have an perfect opportunity to play at the major and already qualified for IEM Dallas. Those few fluke loses against M80 happened because the team didnt play together for long, and their strats werent even a bit trained.

“NiP is the only T3 team here” That was your initial comment. Liquid in their current form is tier 3. There is no arguing against that, they are decent in na tier 2, that makes them mid in eu tier 3. Until they prove otherwise they are tier 3 and there is no way to argue otherwise

9z is tier 3 in my opinion. It depends on how you define tiers, but id rank teams like metizsport, preasy, koi, etc are tier 2, and 9z is certainly a tier below those teams. Mongolz struggles against Lynn and tyloo, but I’d say both those teams are a tier above nouns, wildcard, and especially pa.

... that was one of the most eu biased takes ever... Metizport? Preasy? KOI is valid, but those 2 teams barely stand a chance against 9z. 9z is just inconsistent, but they are overall way better than those 2

Preasy is tier 2 imo. As is metizsport but for them I can see the argument for tier 3. And again it depends on how you define tiers. I would say 9z is worse than those teams. If they replaced buda with a better player they could be tier 2. My take was and is my opinion, so there is some bias but I’m not an eu fan, just realistic. I think it’s been proven that Europe tier 2 is league above tier 2 in any other region, and there’s only a handful of international teams that can compete in eu tier 2, those teams being col, mongolz, Furia, and a few other. I mean m80 in kato showed exactly my point, unable to beat even rebels who are a tier 2/3 eu team

Dominant is a stretch. It’s good that they won it convincingly, but if you really think that they’re tier 1 if they are consistently struggling to stay above tier 2 na teams then convince me with reasoning

It's pretty sad how one team managed to destroy the Indian scene for years. Let's hope it goes better this time.

Yeah no more competitions, sponsors, teams, games, or content came after that. Valorant was a good enough push to support PC gaming scene but CS was pretty much dead. Really really hope to see, even a little, change in the CS gaming scene specifically. Also, hope to see a successful event with good vibes and a positive experience for the teams that are coming for the event.
