KRÜ enter Counter-Strike with Argentine team

The Sergio Agüero-founded organization has finally unveiled a CS2 squad.

Argentine esports organization KRÜ Esports has officially entered Counter-Strike, having unveiled a lineup that includes veteran Roberto "⁠reversive⁠" Themtham, who has played for teams like Isurus, Furious and Leviatan in the past.

The team came together at the start of the year and competed in local qualifiers for PGL Major Copenhagen, IEM Chengdu, and IEM Dallas, failing to go beyond the open stages.

KRÜ had long had their sights set on entering Counter-Strike. In September, the organization was in discussions with the former Paquetá lineup, but the players ended up signing with RED Canids.

Sergio Agüero, the organization’s founder and co-owner, has said that the creation of an academy squad is in the planning stage. "The best players in Argentina will be on it," the former professional footballer said in November. "The best Counter-Strike players will be on KRÜ. We will train them and give them all the tools so that they can grow."

Messi invests in organization planning to enter CS2

Founded in 2020, KRÜ have established themselves as one of the fastest-growing esports organizations in Latin America. Their Valorant team, featuring former Counter-Strike player Angelo "⁠keznit⁠" Mori, notably reached the semi-finals at Valorant Champions 2021 in Berlin.
