OG knock Complexity out of Showdown

It's a rough day for North America as the two biggest names from the region are eliminated from Spring Final contention.

The only god to pray to here was HeavyGod

Complexity has been eliminated from BLAST Premier Spring Showdown by OG, who reverse-swept the series with wins on Anbuis (13-5) and Ancient (13-10) after narrowly conceding defeating on their pick of Inferno (14-16) at the start of the series.

The American team traveled directly from the Americas RMR in Monterrey, Mexico to London to play in the Showdown, which didn't give them the time to prepare like they usually would before the game, Michael "Grim" Wince explained after the series. He added the team are tired from the travel and admitted they weren't playing at 100%, particularly in clutch situations where "you're not thinking of all the options properly."

Fellow Americas RMR attendees Liquid were knocked out of the competition by SAW earlier in the day, with Imperial and Elevate being the only teams from that side of the water still left in contention.

SAW deal Liquid's season another heavy blow with Showdown elimination

The result is a huge bounce-back in form for Nils "k1to" Gruhne's side, who looked dismal in showings against Vitality and Falcons in Spring Groups and more recently, failed to qualify for PGL Major Copenhagen after bowing out of RMR B with a 1-3 record and losses to Apeks, ECSTATIC, and GamerLegion.

"We had a small break, a couple of days, to reset," k1to said of what OG has done since their early RMR exit. "Everyone was sad obviously, we missed our main goal, what we have been working really hard for for the last couple of months. It sucks for everyone. Now we're back to practicing and just want to play as much as possible, I hope we can beat Complexity today so we can continue to play officials in BLAST."

The German rifler recently transitioned to an in-game leader role and his growing pains in the role were evident early in the season, but in this series against Complexity it was a different story. A potent T side on Inferno and stellar entry work from the captain allowed OG to muster an 8-4 lead in the first half, but struggles to close after the side swap allowed Complexity to recover and steal the win in overtime despite an incredible Deagle ace from Nikita "HeavyGod" Martynenko.

The remaining two maps were a different story, however, with Complexity's Anubis pick backfiring as they mustered just five rounds in a dominant show of force by OG. Both pistol wins and conversions on Ancient gave Complexity all the room to maneuver on the decider, but terrific form from HeavyGod allowed OG to grab five rounds on the T side before they completely ran away with a stalwart defense to close the series, 13-10.

hahahha, I love how people were mad, that Liquid and Col had to play each other at the RMR to qualify. Like if that would make much difference, considering they are both not gonna make top-16 anyway.

Technically COL already did. Due to hltv rating they immediately were put in the legends stage. But dont get me wrong, They're still a solid choice for the 0-3 pick. Makes no sense how they got legends however because they're still below Cloud9, Apeks, Ence and Heroic on HLTV. All of those teams qualifed for major too.

they were never the same after they lost to FaZe for the second time at the Fall Finals. And when they lost to Mongolz back to back in 2 days in Atlanta, second time being far more humiliating, they went on a downhill spiral since then. Gonna be hella disappointing if Jason Lake doesn't initiate roster changes after the major.

called it. People and even casters trying to give excuses for COL like jetlag and shit. Yet during Liquids game shat on them the entire match. Yes some mistakes were made, but id say SAW was a much better team then OG from what i watched today. It also wouldv'e been 2-0 for liquid he twistz/yekindar decided to show up for the whole match. Its like, "hey you play good the first half, ill do the second half, then 3rd map well just throw."

In my opinion, there should be one big qualification, all people fly to Europe as this is the main region (deal with it) and in one event you make qualis. You give the teams who advanced 1-2 weeks of break (they stay at the location of qualis and main event), and you do the following stages. Done. But organizers like Valve have no brian.

100% true, due heavy cheating problem there should not be any online qualifiers for major tournaments, only LAN. I know its a financial problem, but nothing that couldnt be done with good organizing.

More like hltv users don't have it. It brings a lot more revenue if the whole world is watching than if only one region is. Imagine if you have only EU teams playing? You'd get no viewers from Asia, Australia, North and South America.

I actually hate current (for like 10+ years since CSGO was relesed) meta, because the matchups are retarded in terms of random. You literally can win a top1 team and just on the next day you can lose to a top 1024 team and everyone be gonna wondering like how its even possible? Maybe because the game since 1.6 became literally casual, that's why?

I mean, yeah! In the real sport it doesn't work like this. You just can't forgot how to play and perform in a week or so if you're in your great form. In CS I just don't feel that. Guys play like gods today and tomorrow they play like bunch of noobs. It's not about Complexity or someone else, it's just my feeling when everytime I watch those matches. They are either not as good as people and ratings think or it's a game which always gives this randomness.
