Metizport ease past Monte in Showdown
The Swedish side are now just one series away from London.

Metizport have kept their winning streak alive in BLAST Premier Spring Showdown's brutal single-elimination bracket, with the Swedes notching a quick 2-0 victory over Monte to put them within a stone's throw of BLAST Premier Spring Final in London.
The young Swedish squad initially turned heads with their debut match in the Showdown, putting a damper on Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev's return to active play with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Falcons in the first round of the bracket.

While Monte are certainly far from their peak form, Metizport's continued success is a huge boon for a team with a very limited practice schedule, an issue raised by Jack "Jackinho" Ström Mattsson in a post-match interview. With Linus "nilo" Bergman and Adam "adamb" Ångström enrolled in school until summer, Jackinho highlighted the team's difficulty in securing time to practice amidst their busy schedule.
Despite the limited opportunities to get practice in, Metizport looked put-together in their series against Monte. Kicking off on the Swedes' pick of Vertigo, Erik "ztr" Gustafsson's troops strung together an impressive T side, putting significant pressure on Monte stand-in Vladyslav "leen" Stepanov on the B site.
Although Metizport concluded the first half with a stellar 10-2 scoreline, Monte were not entirely dissuaded, putting together a five-round streak to close the gap thanks to a pistol round win to kick off the half. In the end, this streak was not enough to overcome the hefty deficit that had already been accrued, with consecutive multikills from ztr allowing Metizport to bring their pick over the line 13-7.
Monte looked much fiercer to kick things off on their pick of Mirage, laying claim to the first five rounds with a series of confident hits on the B site. Despite the slow start, Metizport found their footing on the defense, rallying to take the remaining seven rounds of the half.
Metizport reaffirmed their momentum heading into their T side with a clean 1v2 from Tim "susp" Ångström in the second pistol round. With this important round under their belt, the Swedish side faced little trouble for the remainder of the map, mopping up the final four rounds to conclude an impressive 13-round streak.
