We are less than a week away from the first Major in Counter-Strike 2.

PGL has revealed the schedule for the first two stages of the Copenhagen Major. Between March 17-31, 24 of the world’s best teams will duke it out for the grand prize of $500,000 and the title of the first CS2 Major champions.

The Opening and the Elimination stages will feature a five-round Swiss format, where three victories grant qualification for the next phase and three losses result in elimination. Only the qualification and elimination matches will be played in a best-of-three format.

The first round of the Opening Stage (previously known as Challengers) will begin with Cloud9 facing ECSTATIC on the main stream, and Eternal Fire taking on The MongolZ on the secondary stream. After all the openers have been played, Day 1 will continue with the 1-0 and 0-1 pools.

The Elimination Stage (previously known as Legends) will start the day after the Opening Stage is done. After the field has been whittled down to eight teams, there will be a three-day break before the Playoffs begin, on March 28.

The rest of the schedule for the Elimination Stage will follow the same rundown as the Opening Stage, but from March 22-24. The top eight teams will qualify for the Playoff Stage, live from the Royal Arena from March 28-31.

Well there were more brazillian and russian teams so it was more possible but there were only 2 Iberian teams. Even in the RMR the only 4 teams with Iberian players were at the same group (saw,KOI,Nip,Falcons) I guess someone dislikes us 🤷

But why have these games so early in the afternoon and end early in the evening? 7-11 PM matches are the most hype, watching CS in the afternoon is like eating soup for breakfast, not to mention most people work during that time in weekdays. Late afternoon - late night range would've been so much better.
