PGL Major Copenhagen teams, format, schedule, prizes, talent
Here's everything you need to know about the first CS2 Major.

Update March 16, 11:15 :
9 Pandas will not participate at the PGL Major Copenhagen due to travel issues. They have been replaced at the tournament by GamerLegion.

A momentous occasion is almost upon us as the first CS2 Major, PGL Major Copenhagen, is set to kick off soon. Twenty-four of the best teams in the world will come together March 17-31 to do battle for the coveted Major trophy, with the winner writing their name in history as the first CS2 champion.
Will Vitality defend their Major crown? Can FaZe build upon their immense work in CS2 thus far? Are Danil "donk" Kryshkovets and Spirit poised to continue the destructive form they showed at IEM Katowice? All of these questions and more will be answered over two weeks of CS action.
To ensure you are up to date on everything you need to know, including the teams and format, when games are being played, and what's on the line, HLTV bring you a handy viewer's guide with all the important information in one place.
Participating teams and format
PGL Major Copenhagen will take place across three stages: the Opening Stage, the Elimination Stage, and the Playoff Stage.
The Opening Stage will feature 16 teams doing battle in a Swiss format. Matches are best-of-one until the elimination or qualification matches, which will be best-of-three. The top eight teams from this stage will progress to the Elimination Stage, whilst the bottom eight are eliminated.
The Elimination Stage will see the eight teams from the Opening Stage join eight teams who directly qualified for the Elimination Stage. The same format as the Opening Stage is used for the Elimination Stage: a Swiss-style bracket, best-of-one matches into best-of-three for deciding games, and the top eight teams qualify for the next phase.
The Playoff Stage is simple: eight teams battle in a best-of-three, single-elimination bracket to determine the Major champion.

Schedule
Each stage of the tournament spans four days. Unlike in Majors past, there will be no off day between the first and second, but the playoffs teams will have at least three days to prepare for the Royal Arena matches.
