PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024EliGE carries Complexity to 2-0 pool over HEROIC

Complexity and Virtus.pro have secured victories against HEROIC and paiN respectively in the second round of PGL Major Copenhagen's Elimination Stage. The Russian squad did well to bounce back from an opening loss against Imperial to enter the 1-1 pool, while Complexity prevailed in a double-overtime affair thanks to a superlative performance by Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski.
Complexity began their bout against HEROIC with a pistol-round win, but the majority Danish squad answered with a second-round force buy to take a 5-1 lead. The North Americans then recovered with the help of Michael "Grim" Wince's 1vs2 clutch and eventually took a two-round lead into their offensive half.
HEROIC tied up the scores at the start of the second half as the game descended into a back-and-forth affair, with Rasmus "sjuush" Beck's individual moments keeping HEROIC in the game. His impact dried up toward the end, but his teammates picked up the slack and moved the game to overtime.
Two overtimes were needed to decide the victor, and it was Complexity who came out on top after EliGE took over the game and racked up 37 kills to get his team a berth in the 2-0 bracket.

On the B stream, Virtus.pro aimed to bounce back from an opening loss against Imperial. They let Inferno get through the veto once again, but were much more comfortable this time around, as they quickly recovered from a pistol-round loss to go 6-2 up before an uncharacteristic last-second retake attempt cost them a few rounds in the final stages of the half.
Dzhami "Jame" Ali clutched a 1vs2 situation in the second-half pistol, with the captain's star moment getting Virtus.pro up to double digits, and they didn't let such a lead slip. Virtus.pro duly closed out a 13-9 victory and earned their spot in the 1-1 pool.
