VP vs G2, FaZe vs COL headline final Elimination Stage round

At least one top side is set to miss out on the playoffs of CS2's first Major.

G2 have a daunting matchup against Virtus.pro

The matches for the fifth and final round of the Elimination Stage of PGL Major Copenhagen have been finalized, with Virtus.pro and G2 set to face off in a clash between two top 10 sides.

With ECSTATIC and HEROIC eliminated in the fourth round of play, only two Danes are still vying for spots in the Royal Arena: in-game leaders Rasmus "⁠HooXi⁠" Nielsen and Finn "⁠karrigan⁠" Andersen.

While the former will be looking for a win over Dzhami "⁠Jame⁠" Ali's troops for a spot, karrigan and co. are slated to face off against Complexity, whose strong 2-0 start has been whittled to a 2-2 record after losses to MOUZ and Vitality.

The final match of the 2-2 pool will feature Natus Vincere and paiN. The Brazilian squad is just one step away from accomplishing a stellar 0-2 to 3-2 reverse sweep, but it will have to move past Aleksi "⁠Aleksib⁠" Virolainen's side, who come off defeats to Spirit and Cloud9 in qualifying series.

It's why I said "arguably". Faze has a higher ceiling, but paiN looked like the better team today. Also, they slapped down Heroic, whom Faze lost to convincingly.

I just looked at the map comparison for navi pain, i literally dont see a world where navi lose, unless iM drops a fat 0.08 rating for the series

I think Na'vi is favoured, but I don't think it will be an easy match for them. Anyway, my comment was aimed at coL: drawing Faze/paiN was the best outcome for them, so if anything they got lucky.

Convincingly? Since when 13:10 is a convincing victory? Especially when last round came down to a 1v1, which, if went the other way, would’ve broken Heroic’s economy and that would’ve almost guaranteed overtime

You're right - but it ain't ogre till it's ogre. 7-0 start for Faze on T side is good, but the fact that ropz and br0ky are bottom fragging is a cause for concern going forward.

Faze definitely looking the best they have all tournament. Should be a quick 2-0 if they keep it up, but overpass has been a clownfiesta for both, so let's see how that plays out. I do think they are the heavy favourites now, though.

Faze definitely looking a lot better, but not tournament contender level. Looks like they are up against TS/mouz next so as far as I am concerned that's where the run ends. coL I think overdelivered. I had them as my 0-3 team but, just as I was about to lock in, I watched fl0m's video and he made the argument that coL can win any given map if Elige pops off, so I changed to TheMongolz instead. And so it was: he had that really strong start against paiN where he gave them a huge lead early on and, even though he later dropped off, the damage was done. He was then a complete beast against Heroic, of course. I was impressed by coL in the game against Vitality, but I think these losses against Faze and mouz are more representative of where coL is right now with respect to EU T1 CS. e: oh and you were spot on re the map pool matchup, I kind of slept on that. coL used to be excellent on ovp, though, but this time Faze made it work on the T side in classic Faze fashion. Those 2v5 and 1v1s really broke the back of coL.

I feel like this always happens to both teams lol. They usually end up playing each other, but if you're like me, you never know who to really "cheer for" because both are great teams.

coL overperforming while faze underperforming (a lot) = coL VP looking totally off G2 looking shaky and inconsistent = 50/50 - daily form will determine NaVi overrated, have a negative trend and most probably some confidence issues coming into this. paiN so much up and down (mood based team with a skill ceiling from the lowest of all teams up to really good) = paiN What i hope for: FaZe G2 (VP is the absolute most boring team to watch) paiN (need the emotions in the playoffs)
