The American is set to re-join the competitive scene after departing in 2022.

Stewie2K's last full-time team was Evil Geniuses

Jake "⁠Stewie2K⁠" Yip is set to trial for Legacy in place of Marcelo "⁠coldzera⁠" David after the latter was benched by mutual consent, according to a report by Dust2.com.br.

The American will play for Legacy over the course of April as the organization monitors the roles and switch to communicating in English, with the potential for the move to become permanent should the team be successful.

Stewie2K's last team in Counter-Strike prior to his break from competition was Evil Geniuses, who he joined in January 2022 alongside former teammates and fellow ELEAGUE Major winners William "⁠RUSH⁠" Wierzba and Timothy "⁠autimatic⁠" Ta, taking over the reins as IGL in the organization's bid to return to competing at the top of the game.

His time with the team was short-lived as Evil Geniuses went on to bomb out of four consecutive events, including a failed bid to qualify for PGL Major Antwerp, and within months from the new lineup's creation it became clear the relationship between the in-game leader and the coaching staff had quickly grown sour over highly-publicized disagreements.

As he departed from Evil Geniuses Stewie2K announced he was stepping away from competitive CS to focus on streaming, and spent much of his time streaming VALORANT. Early in 2023 he announced his free agency as he sought a return to competition, and towards the end of 2023 he featured in several ESL Challenger League games for Mythic.

This will not be the first time Stewie2K has featured on a Brazilian team, as he played for SK and MIBR over the course of 2018, alongside the likes of Gabriel "⁠FalleN⁠" Toledo.

This is a very weird move in many ways: - Stewie has been out of action for a very long time and he didn't look sharp individually judging by his streams and the few pugs he played here and there. - Forcing a full Brazilian roster to communicate in English because of a single player doesn't seem like a good idea at all. - Could have been a great opportunity to give another young Brazilian talent a chance in a pretty decent roster or get someone with quite a bit of experience lile boltz which I'm sure the young players would appreciate and learn from. Personally I do not expect this to turn out well but I wish Stewie and Legacy the best of luck nonetheless.
