Belgrade to host $500,000 BetBoom Dacha event

Spirit and Cloud9 headline the invite list for the tournament, which will take place in May.

Spirit will be looking to defend their BetBoom Dacha Dubai title

Tournament operator and production studio FISSURE has announced that it will organize the next edition of BetBoom Dacha in Belgrade. The tournament will feature eight top teams, who will duke it out for their share of a $500,000 prize pool.

BetBoom Dacha Belgrade will take place from May 14-19 during a gap in the tournament calendar between ESL Pro League 19 and IEM Dallas. Six spots will be filled by invitations, while the other two will be determined by online qualifiers.

Spirit, Cloud9 and Virtus.pro return to a BetBoom Dacha competition after attending the 2023 event, which took place in Dubai in December. Spirit came out on top of the $300,000 tournament after beating Virtus.pro 3-2 in the final, with Danil "⁠donk⁠" Kryshkovets earning his first MVP medal.

"The FISSURE studio is moving to Belgrade, and we are very excited to have our first tournament here with such cool teams," FISSURE CEO Nikolay Vesnin said in a statement.

"We are developing more and more every month and at every new tournament, we bring our viewers quality content, a cozy atmosphere, and a beautiful game. The new CS2 Dacha will be the next big step for our studio, and we are happy that our audience is making it with us. We look forward to seeing everyone on our broadcasts!"

The online qualifiers will kick off on April 2 in Europe and April 4 in South America. In Europe, 16 teams will compete for four spots in the Play-In stage, which will send a team to the LAN event. In South America, eight teams will duke it out for a spot in Belgrade.

Were the ads terrible? Yes Do we need this kind of events? Also yes I think CS pro scene needs tier1.5 events like this. I have a feeling that BLAST events aren't enough for developing teams. But, yeah, ads were really bad, they should make them less aggressive.
