Metizport will announce a replacement in the coming days.

The young Swede will not be present at the LAN in Brazil

Metizport has announced that star player Linus "⁠nilo⁠" Bergman will miss Global Esports Tour Rio 2024, taking place on April 18-24, due to academic reasons.

The 19-year-old has been a killing machine ever since joining Metizport, averaging a 1.21 rating since September 2023, when he departed Young Ninjas for his current team.

Metizport has also stated that a replacement will be announced in the coming days.

I havent missed a single metizport game since they got the swedish roster (: Stop being deluded. Ztr is a strong igl, adamb is a good anchor, susp performes if he hs the feeling, jack is dog shit awper and only performs with rifle, Nilo stands out alot and with good reasons

Good for him, school comes first, this esports thing wont last him for all his life, its good to have an education so you can have something to fall back on. So many athletes forget they wont be pro atheletes for their whole lives. When that part of their career ends, a lot have nothing else to fall back on. Nilo doing the right thing here.

I agree with you but not entirely. Sure, if in 4 years he's hardstuck in T3 and can't live off of it, then it would be great to have a diploma to fall back on, most likely a 2y diploma because going for a 5y one will destroy his career, so maybe he could be a plumber or something But in 10 years, when most pros stop their career : 1) I hope he earned and invested enough money so he can work as something else than an employee, at best with investments he made, otherwise as the owner of a company renovating buildings or whatever 2) I doubt he would accept to go and be a plumber after playing in T1 CS, he would be counselor or whatever I feel like this diploma thing is important only if you fail in the first years Later i becomes irrelevant, some teachings about investments would be way more valuable And in this particular case, i think we all know he would be picked by a T2/T1 org quickly
